They looked like they had a lot of 370z's in the shop along with some Porsche's.. I'm building a big 40x40 next year with a lift...

Yup, from what I heard he's got 4 Nismos coming in for kits and a few other Z's 350s included.

That will be nice! Sucks not having a garage..

COSMO 02-03-2015 09:32 PM

Great job on the build bobby...

Pics! Enjoy the ride. I felt the same way when I picked up my car. The drive from Tampa to South Carolina was awesome....ended up cleaning a frog outta the intercooler when I got back lol.

Chuck33079 02-08-2015 04:23 PM

On a totally non hostile note, anyone else see VSR on "All girls garage" two weeks running?

Nut_N_Much 02-08-2015 04:30 PM

Wow Dan you got a frog on your kill list?! Haha yeah man the car is an absolute blast.. It was fun last time but this time was soooo much better. I guess with it being by birthday Friday and making a weekend out of it helped but the car combined with the environment really was phenomenal.

Yeah Chuck, there are a few episodes actually where they feature the shop and use the dyno and tuner. Guys from Garage Fix also have used the shop for some episodes.

Oh I forgot to mention that I ran the whole 700 mile trip on nothing but E85! I did not expect to be able to get home without some pump gas.. After driving some distance with the car and seeing my mileage I discovered I could fill up where ever it was available even if I wasn't empty just to make sure I got to the next place. The mileage really isn't all that bad either! Plus you can't beat under $2 a gallon.. I paid $1.69 locally. That's cheaper then fuel for my beater civic. :bowrofl:

Saw in your build list on the FI build thread you are running a clutchmasters fx300. How do you like it? You running their lightweight steel flywheel too? No issues holding that power?

Yes I do, so far so good! No flywheel just using the stock one. It is stiffer than stock and engages a little different but not bad at all. I got used to it in a day after not driving my car since April.

Also, I went to the emissions station today to get tested as my tags expired in December. As you can imagine I was a little bit nervous going in. Pull into the bay, two younger guys immediately take notice to the cars "uniqueness". First guy looks for the cat with his mirror while the other asks him if there is one. Keep in mind I've taken an Evo with turbo back exhaust through no problem before and not even a second look. Well this time the guy looks under the car in either confusion or amazement all the while I am just thinking "oh ****, I'm screwed" haha. They then proceed to go on with the testing and I'm asked to wait in the room. A few minutes later I'm waved out and I hear "it's got a turbo or something" again I'm like oh no.. So I'm given my sheet and some small talk takes place. I ask did it pass with unsureness and to my surprise it did. Not sure if they helped me out or not I just said thank you and answered a few curious questions they had about the car and figured they were probably into the scene. Popped my hood to show them the goods and proceeded to give them a glimpse of the beast leaving the station. :driving: :happydance:

Awesome  thats the way it should be... Luckily no inspection here for me just raw emissions coming out my pipes threatening the polar caps :icon14: lmao

MidnightBlueZ 02-10-2015 09:58 PM

:iagree: emissions are a pain.. weird how some places (counties, states) could care less and others are nazis. More of a money scheme I'd say. I'm sure my beater Civic is more of a pollutant than the Z lol

Haha, man I envy you guys with garages! I miss having one so much.. Kills me to leave her out there.

This kinda weather doesn't happen too often but when it does it sucks.

up here its just a necessity with having a nicer car and if you care about said car of course lol

mines wrapped up in the corner under cover and the heat on. thing gets babied.

sad when I see by my work one guy driving a 911 turbo in the snow and a GT-R in the snow. well it's not the snow part that makes it sad. it's the salt and other chemicals they treat the roads with here that makes it sad.

MidnightBlueZ 02-18-2015 09:50 AM

:iagree:

No way I could drive a 911 Turbo in snow/ice although a GTR could be fun! But the amount of rust damage that could occur wouldn't be worth it for me. I need an older subaru to drive around lol.

you guys act like you can't wash your car... its not like here where 3/4 of the winter is in the negatives.. you can't even think about washing..

but then again, they don't use salt or chemicals here.. just sand lol

Isamu 02-18-2015 03:30 PM

I wish I could drive my Z tho... Imma have to do a serious lube an love on her since I will actually be home this summer, gotta rock that slick single turbo!

Maybe I should come visit MidnightBlueZ... we can compare builds since I have the prototype of your kit lol
