Out of the 10,000 370z sold in 2009, I would wager that less than 750 are in california and of those 750 less than 1% will be installing a supercharger on their car. So if a few superchargers in California are worth the cost and the trouble to get carb approval, while waiting out and letting competitors release their alternatives to force induction and loosing potential customers... I think someone should get on the ball because I am ready to install one and would fabricate it myself if I had the time and resources to do so.

Just my opinion.

The kit Will BE Released immediately after all the development, testing and tuning are done. And this is for a simple reason ... we are offering more than one stage for this kit, the carb approved stage will take the longest and we have a dedicated car for that, the other more performance driven stages (non carb Stages ) will be available for sale hopefully by sema, one thing i can guarantee, that We have been hard at work on the VQ37VHR platform since 2007 so we are so far ahead in the testing and development more than anybody else in the world .

soooo - if i were to get a non-carb kit... and then your carb kit came out - how hard would it be for me to make mine carb ok? I dont mind loosing some power for peace of mind... also - how hard would it be to go from CARB ok kit to not so carb ok kit?

my wishlist for this kit (or any SC for that matter) :

-a reliable 475-500whp w/full exhaust
-torque curve as flat as Montana
-installed price of ~ $8k

i know the pictures showed the engine out with the supercharger but is it required to drop the engine? Because if you dont need to drop the engine it shouldnt take $1000 for install...free if you can do it yourself.

^I'm sure the engine is pulled because they are developing the system and it would be easier this way and less time consuming so they can get the project completed and released.

Hopefully it will be garage DIY do-able, but I know I'll be paying someone (AAM?) to install mine.

i understand why they pulled it out obviously. But what im saying for us when we buy the kit. The only engine i ever pulled out of a vehical is out of a Leopard C2 Tank...only took 20mins with a 5 ton crane. I dont know if it would be more time consuming for us to install the supercharger with the engine in or with it out of the car...not sure how hard it is to pull a engine out of a car.

Well I know nothing about pulling out engines so for me it would be HARD but I suppose if you are that good with a motor and stuff like this it probably isn't tooo too hard. I still suspect that it won't be necessary to pull it but it will probably be a giant PITA!

I think y'all may be shooting low with a $5k estimate. If you purely base the cost on the supercharger and intercooler, your looking at 2,800 and about 1,000 respectively. Plus brackets, piping and accessories and profit I would say 5,999-6,500 would be fair. Don't forget about fuel and engine management either...

A company by URD makes an identical setup for the 1GR, the Toyota Tacoma, 4Runner and FJ Cruiser motor which is a 4.0L running the C38 and runs about 5,899. It does double the wheel hp from 200ish to 400ish which gives me a promising expectation from this kit.

Underdog Racing Development

Just a wild guess

Thanks for the link to URD performance. You are right the supercharger produces great power good torque. Check out the price breakdown:
Base $5,995.00
2 - 10 $3,895.00
11 - 20 $3,895.00
21 - 30 $3,895.00
31 - 40 $3,895.00
41 - 50 $3,895.00

51 - 60 $3,895.00
61 - 70 $3,895.00
71 - 80 $3,895.00
81 - 90 $3,895.00
91 - 100 $3,895.00
Above $3,895.00

I believe this is for the entire kit. I hope we are able to get a similar discount rather than expected to pay ultra-high retail because we are the first to be interested.

$2800 for the blower and another $1000 for the intercooler are at full retail prices. I am sure GTM is getting both for about half. The Tacoma kits that are priced above are similar to what the 370 z will need plus an intercooler and oil cooler.

I think GTM could price it uninstalled for under $6000, but will they try to recoup investment faster by charging more.

I hope not!

Sam I hope you can talk to the upper brass and get an incredible price for you fans on this and other forums. Once the word is out the volume should achieve profits far greater than over priced kits. Just my thought..
