I might have to check that thread, I'm not interested in a turbo kit so I don't really check that thread often.

nogoodname 09-21-2009 08:49 PM

i dont see why it wouldnt be available on this kit

I think GTM will flash your ECU with a preliminary version of UpRev. I'm sure you can find the answer you are looking for in the TT thread.

NewYorkJon34 09-21-2009 08:53 PM

Anybody wanna take a guess how much Torque this kit could make?

We Tune the ecu via flash, The VVEL is not that big of deal to control, its more then a pain in *** and almost mission impossible if you are trying to use a piggyback like stillen . The key is to have full control over the ecu which we do

Stillen has nothing on the market in terms of ECU flashing for forced induction unless you know something we don't... :stirthepot:

... but anyways, an ECU flash is a better idea than a piggyback (IMO).

Stillen Uses a piggyback solution and it is not even a plug And play system it will require taping in to the factory ecu harness . Which should be avoidable .

I forgot to mention I was talking about the 370Z.

NewYorkJon34 09-21-2009 10:21 PM

Then is there anyway GTM could release a tune for people with bolt-ons, any power to be made? just curious

Thanks for the updates, Sam! Definitely builds anticipation for the SC kit.

Equinox 09-22-2009 04:36 PM

Sam assures me the reason my exhaust I ordered is taking so long is because he is working so hard on the SC kit. lol.

Z eliminator 09-25-2009 11:23 AM

Sam you promised me the first SC is going to Burligton Ontario Canada.
12.800@ 110.33. 370z 7 AT. N/A.
All I need is 120 RWHP over stock.
11's here we come.
Call me and let me know when I can have it.

Gtm supercharger update

Here are the latest pics of the progress as of last week. We now have the supercharger unit completely mounted with the proper routing of the belt. We are very please so far with the outcome. Since belt slippage is one of the biggest challenges when designing a supercharger System, we feel that we have done a very good job with the amount of belt wrapped around the blower and the pulley system that we have designed for the kit.

So now we are moving to make the intake and all the piping.

Stay tuned

Sam

Snakes709 09-28-2009 07:59 PM

man, its like a damn maze..

NewYorkJon34 09-28-2009 09:10 PM

Any projected torque numbers?

Zsteve 09-28-2009 09:11 PM

Any price range yet? I saw that the SC itself was like $3000+ on some web sites.

Also I see that stage one can go up to 500 HP but what is the number with just the SC and exhaust?

Buddy Revell 09-28-2009 09:40 PM

Thanks for the pics, Sam! Can't wait to see the piping and intercooler next!

If you go back a few pages you'll get an idea of the price range they are shooting for. ;)

And yes, thanks for the pics! Can't wait to see the finished product. If I'm lucky maybe I'll be installing one of these next summer. :)

And when you get yours, post a diary...document how hard you drive it, any other upgrades, etc.

My main concern is how much the 7AT can take. If it's stable w/ 500WHP, I'm SO there.

Same with the turbo kit, actually. Supercharger would be simpler, but, turbo is more crazy-happies.

ssqpolo 09-28-2009 10:32 PM

OMG! there are pictures. GTM gets the stamp of approval...from all forced induction junkies

DannyGT 09-28-2009 10:49 PM

Nice work GTM! Put me in line for one of these please! I'm ready when you are...

if i am lucky i will be installingthis on my G this winter

&at should have no issues with 500HP. lots of tt G37's with no issues. plus the FX has same tranny and it hold the 390hp so 500 sould be very doable.

shabarivas 09-29-2009 12:42 AM

What do you suppose labor would cost on getting something like that installed / tuned?

Red370 09-29-2009 07:35 AM

a shop around here will do it for 1-1.2k, i'd say thats reasonable, considering the install should take 8 man hours tops.

500WHP = approx 625HP at the crank (assuming 20% loss) :)

Also, 390HP vs 332HP = approx 15% increase, stock for stock.

500HP at the crank vs 390HP at the crank is 22% increase - not sure if they designed it to handle that much?

Then what I mentioned - 625HP vs 390 = 38% increase :)

Nice work GTM, Good luck with the rest of the project, and keep us updated with the progress.

Kannibul, you forgot to throw in the weight difference in your math. The lighter 370z (compered to the FX) equal less stress on the transmission.

You're right, I did forget!

Going off raw numbers, 38% (plus a bit) over known output might be a lot to ask?

Either way, is it unlikely that a (this) supercharger kit could actually put out 625 at the crank, up from 332 - without blowing itself up during 100K miles?

I mean, anything is possible...if you have the money!

CCCLXXZ 09-29-2009 04:28 PM

^ really 100k miles? I mean come on, I would expect to service your engine and FI system every 50k miles at 625hp. Clutch, brakes, all wear and tear items... There isn't any turn key forced induced car running 600+hp that can run to 100k with only oil changes. For the price, bang for the buck!

Not to mention that I and many others will have moved on from the 370 long before 100K is hit... forced induced or na

I know, I'm just saying that I don't want to deal with my engine blowing up and having to fork out the thousands to fix it.

More than likely, this car won't hit 40K miles for me, it'll either sit in a garage and be driven around occasionally, or be sold off later when I want something else, or, worst case, wrecked.

It's all a balancing act.
