PLEASE READ below...shady-ness alert!!

Sam's original reply, in case no one noticed clearly (unless Sam has changed it back, as he should do):

Kyle:

"Sam,

Please keep your comments in regards to our supercharger kit to the facts...Your information about our kit is accurate.

Best of luck!"

Sam:

"Thank you for your support Kyle, and the best of luck to you too

Sam"

SAM CHANGED THE WORD "inaccurate" TO "accurate" BEFORE REPOSTING THE QUOTE AND HIS REPLY!!!

Very shady, Sam. As others have mentioned here, your professionalism is severely lacking. Not good when you're about to charge thousands of dollars per kit and you know you'll be required to provide excellent customer service.

Please focus on repping your own kit and leave it at that. Thanks.

ROFL - that's a great laugh! +1 for GTM! You people need to stop with the whining what are you 12? The car scene has never been nor will be a bake sale. This to me is absolutely fun lovin **** talk, and it should create better competition. It's how it goes down on the tracks/streets/etc and I don't expect anything else from these guys. That was clever tho Sam, good one!

Love a good sense of humor. Relax people! If this is the worst he has done, oh noes, I can't imagine how sensitive some of you are.

JB-370z 02-02-2010 10:09 AM

Seriously, there is so much **** talk in the aftermarket... especially among direct competitors. In the Mustang world it was ridiculous... we had rival shops and everything... so much **** talk... but nothing that would ever stop even the fiercest of rivals from enjoying a cold one together at the end of the day.

Zguy 02-02-2010 11:42 AM

I dont think its shady at all..... Sam's information is correct so I dont blame him for changing the post.... I think its kinda funny. Who comes to another companies thread and cries about what is said?

AND further more if you are going to come in and cry about something Sam said about your kit maybe you should come with some evidence that whatever was said is wrong. The same question was asked in the stillen thread about the sensors and they just bounced around it. Clear answers are good, crying about someone stating fact is bad and a little friendly competition and $hit talk is alright in my book.

JoeyD 02-02-2010 01:28 PM

Man this is starting to remind me of the time I tried buying a supercharger kit from Toyomoto for my IS300. Lots of shadyness and name calling. I ended up almost having to sue the guy after 6 months of non-delivery, and eventually got my money back and took it elsewhere. I vote to put the clink on this thing before it gets further out of hand.

That being said...GTM WTF are you doing? Your kit has a niche the stillen kit will never fill (the sleeper look). Name calling and clumsy attempts at being slick (with the stillen quote edit) just make everyone, myself included, question your business ethics. In the world you two companies compete in there is only one standard, the performance standard, so please let performance speak without being clouded by slander.

Zsteve 02-02-2010 01:34 PM

Man, a little banter back and forth isnt hurting anything as long as they dont get crazy with it. You dont think pro teams dont banter each other before and during the game? Then they hug afterwards no matter who wins and they collect their pay check. Ive played plenty of B ball at gyms and let me tell you the amount of **** talking going on is HUGE, but most are friends and are having fun and dont take it to the next level. Lighten up some and let them have some fun. In the end it will be the numbers and price that sells the kits.

Brazilbro 02-02-2010 01:38 PM

Babys, there hasnt been any slander , 2 questions were asked about the other kit. They were addressed then the questions were asked to the maker of the "other" kit. Thats it. Its not the Sponsers hyping this all up.. its the members.. thats it. This talk isnt anything to get worked up about.. you should see the EVO forum battles between AMS and Buscher. Which flames are usually faned by members.

DannyGT 02-02-2010 01:48 PM

I'll say it one more time, re-*******-lax...He changed one word on a quote, on a forum, on the interwebs...and you people (like 1 or 2 LOL) question GTMs entire business practice??? Again, you shouldnt ever go to any car competition at all then, because you may weep like little girls with all the **** talkin going on. Let the MEN play like MEN!

It will only bring competition between the two to the next level which means, US, as the consumer should get a better product. I truely hope both meet and exceed our expectations because that should only drive the price lower with more options out there...

kdoske 02-02-2010 02:40 PM

I agree, who cares. I'm sure him and his co-workers were sitting around the computer laughing there *** off as he backspaced the 'in' off of the word inaccurate in the original post.

professional--who knows!
Funny--hells yeah!

This makes perfect sense.. Both were going to release average products BUT THEN some words were said on a forum and they then took it to the next level... :p

People are talking about teams and shops talking **** as being normal. True enough.. Well these shops also happen to be the manufacturers and they will be selling these kits to customers and other retailers. There should be a different level of professionalism here in my opinion.

I WELCOME head to head comparisions and if words are going to be said about another's kit, then bring the data and present it. Until then, it is a case of blowing hot air (non-supercharger reference).

Buddy Revell 02-02-2010 03:15 PM

Well, getting back to the topic of their SC, I was wondering if GTM's kit will have an open-atmosphere blow-off valve or a recirculating one?

It will probably be open-atomsphere, with an option to purchase recirculating. But who knows

JB-370z 02-02-2010 04:24 PM

If this theory is correct we will be seeing some ultra high end products. Once again, nothing to complain about.

They already showed us that it has a recirculating valve. Look closer.

StillenZ 02-02-2010 08:57 PM

Again, if Sam changing a word - to be funny - on a forum, on the interweb is THAT offensive and so incredibly unprofessional than I dont know what to tell you. Grow a pair? See! Funny!

But anyway - I think we can all agree that we want to see the PR, yesterday ;) My main focus for either the GTM or Stillen kits are that they perform well on road coarses with 'power everwhere'.

JB-370z 02-03-2010 02:30 PM

SAM you need to create a new thread sir!! This one is getting hit with alot of you know what! Keep working hard and the money will come!

I really just wanted to post to show interest on this product and to put pressure on Sam for the press release..

but this guy is just funny because DannyGT said it best already and he still did not get it.. business is not about making friends or being nice to others... check out AT&T vs Verizon, Coke vs Pepsi, Burger King vs Carls jr vs McDonalds vs Wendys... GET over IT and enough about that bs on GTM being unethical... it's not unethical to answer a consumer's concern about S/C application... it's unethical however to claim information to be misleading or withhold information to consumers... SO SAM IF U HAVE MORE INFORMATION U SHOULDN'T WITHHOLD it at all and release it like you have diarrhea...

StillenZ 02-03-2010 05:05 PM

Agreed ^.... We all need release Sam!

BLUESLATE 02-03-2010 06:33 PM

budakai 02-03-2010 07:03 PM

This is crazy. You guys are getting me excited about this damn thing and I don't even have a 370z!!. We all (including myself) need to step back for a minute. Sam's creating the would's 1st supercharged 370z!!. There is no template for him to follow and no one to copy from here.....

Like I said brotha... if you got disposable cash... GO ALL IN! :happydance:

G Fo12ce 02-04-2010 11:32 AM

I will wait to reserve judgement but, traditionally a Rotrex style s/c will develop power lower in the RPM band were Vortec is more top end/less response (not a bad thing depending on what you want). My guess is that this kit is going to be cheaper than the Stillen one. It doesn't have the extra manifold, lines, pump and cooler. I'm sure it will be lighter also. If GTM nails the tuning and it works well I think a lot of people talking shti are going to be :nutswinger: and all will be forgotten...

You have a problem with my answer or you did not see the value in it then fine goahead and challenge it and explain to me how's having hands on experience on the stillen kit will have anything to do with the facts that I stated in regards to the air temp reading.

Sam

No offense and all, but YOU have no idea about their tuning or design. All you are doing is speculating so I think I would agree that your opinion on the matter to me will be taken with a grain of salt. I am not knocking you, but be real, you have NO idea what they are doing there, and for all you know it will perform better b/c they did more research then you. GOOD EXAMPLE: The plenums on the 350z, when upgraded produced more power, did AP or Cosworth think they knew more then nissan? No, they simply created something that was an improvement on a factory design.

SAM@GTM 02-04-2010 09:53 PM

We are done with all the Parts documentation, Here is a good pic of all the components for the GTM supercharger kit for the 370Z

We will be back with some more info...

Stay tuned

Sam

Zsteve 02-04-2010 09:59 PM

no we are getting somewhere.

bucketman 02-04-2010 10:10 PM

Ahhh...release! (lights cig.) Looks awesome!! Can't wait for dyno.
