+1 Have I already said I am VERY interested in the performance and reliability of your product?

Sam,
Do you think the 7AT will need to be modified if I am at 5500 ft altitude looking for about 400-425 whp? Not a track driver, but a spirited driver. Thanks, john |

Here is some samples of Installation manuals for our GTM twin turbo kit for the 07-08 350Z HR http://www.gtmotorsports.com/Manuals...ual_350ZHR.pdf http://www.gtmotorsports.com/Manuals...ist_350ZHR.pdf http://www.gtmotorsports.com/Manuals...own_350ZHR.pdf Sam |

Since We are using maf base tuning, altitude does not really make one bit of difference the ecu will be able to compensate for the changes in altitude wither you are at see level or at 10000 . so the car will still have the same factory driveability at all the time . So far I'm impressed with the 7AT, Nissan has done a good job in programing the TCM . As for not doing any supporting mod to the transmission after going force induction,it is not recommended.. at least you need to install a trans cooler, as we are producing more power the transmission is working harder and it directly effects the fluid temperature Sam |

Very interested in this kit!

Can't wait to hear more about the product.

I agree the cooler is the way to go. I was mentioning the altitude because my car produces much less hp at 5500 than at sea level thus putting less strain on the trans. I am sure you will have boost compensation for high altitude when the kit is revealed. Good luck with the development and I look forward to hearing more from you.

Are you going for CARB certification?

I haven't seen anything come out of GTM carb certified (correct me if I'm wrong), so we may have to wait for Vortech or Stillen who have historically followed that process to deliver for us.. Hense the question to GTM.. |

One of our main intention with the supercharger kit is to achieve carb certification . Sam |

We are not trying to make a big horse power out of the supercharger kit, that what we have the turbo kit for . But personally i would not be happy with less than 100 whp with and carb certificate and this is what we are shooting for . Sam |
Great news! Sounds like the development of this SC kit will be a lot faster coming than the GTM TT kit was! If the gains prove themselves and the price is right (7-8k ish) I think we have a HUGE winner here!

Well if i can get 600 RWHP out of a SC that would be prime other wise I might have to throw down on the TT

In all honesty I just want 475 to 550ish but 600 would be f'n sweet
|
I don't care how much horsepower the car makes so long as it traps 120+ MPH. RWHP tells you absolutely nothing about how fast a car is. The only indication of a car's performance is, obviously, hard acceleration figures, i.e. 1/4-mile trap-speed, 1-mile trap speed, 60-150 MPH, etc.
To put a power figure to it, however...I think somewhere in the low-500 RWHP range should make this a 120 MPH car. |
oh wtf?! 500+hp on a supercharger?!
if this beast gives 500+ RWHP & IT SHOWS GREAT RELIABILITY IN THE LONG RUN, i'm gonna be doing EVERYTHING to get that money for this kit. |
dyno vid please
|
^^ love the non-z owner who comes in here, skims through the thread and asks for a dyno video of a product that is still in early development. Bravo!
|
post a dyno with someone running on the rollers....lol
|
What I would like to see is 120hp over stock CARB certified with another 30-40 each HP from a pulley and custom tune. Then have other stages for the non-cali people (or people in cali who don't care).
I think the right price point for a complete kit (not including install) is $6000.. Just my opinion :) -Mark |
Hmm, how about you develop the non CARB versions first for "off road" use only? I hate how the rest of the country has to suffer because California sucks for emissions. Now this kit is going to be more expensive and take longer to produce to meet CARB. If only CA wasnt such a huge market for these things...if they weren't I guess they would be SOL for all these Performance Products.
|
^ I agree with RCZ, its disappointing that companies have a specific goal to get carb approved before releasing a product when California is just one state out of 50 that require the certification. Out of the 10,000 370z sold in 2009, I would wager that less than 750 are in california and of those 750 less than 1% will be installing a supercharger on their car. So if a few superchargers in California are worth the cost and the trouble to get carb approval, while waiting out and letting competitors release their alternatives to force induction and loosing potential customers... I think someone should get on the ball because I am ready to install one and would fabricate it myself if I had the time and resources to do so.
Just my opinion. Nick J. |

soooo - if i were to get a non-carb kit... and then your carb kit came out - how hard would it be for me to make mine carb ok? I dont mind loosing some power for peace of mind... also - how hard would it be to go from CARB ok kit to not so carb ok kit?

Sam
any chance the testing and tuning could be done by SEMA this year? john |
