TopGunz dont worry about him. The pistons you have came straight from Arias and are built to a custom spec. I have them in my Z and they work Great!

Cosmo we know your hatred for GTM. Getting items from GTM has slowed to a snails pace and I should know!

I know where they stand with things and they are slowly working to get themselves into a position to make things right from what I am told. It is going to take them atleast a year if not longer. Take it for what you will.

Nothing would please me more for them to make things right for everyone including myself. I always considered gtm #1 on my list before they got over their's heads, that's why I chose their kit in the first place..
I applaud sam if he can in fact dig himself out the hole he dug and make things right..

Just an update and I started a thread regarding this but it was closed shortly after. I have been trying to purchase another drivers side exhaust manifold since mine cracked and after talking to todd at vivid racing he was sure sam at gtm could fulfill that order. Paid half up front and waited 6 weeks because sam told tod at vivid that a new batch of manifolds were due in the end of February. Again this is not bashing gtm in any way but I just wanted to let people know that I tried to place an order through another company to get a part from gtm for my existing turbo kit. To make a long story short, I had to request a refund due to gtm not being able to fulfill the order. Todd at vivid racing is a great guy and did everything he told he was going to do if gtm did not come through so again I'm needing another exhaust manifold.... I know I can have my existing one welded but would prefer a new one just for peace of mind. My new motor now has almost 3k miles and smooth as butter..

Well.... don't worry. They are working hard to right things over there.

How's the drone vids coming along?

COSMO 03-07-2015 09:51 PM

Actually I crashed it today because I just had to fly it in the agility mode. Luckily I only broken one of the legs on the landing gear.. If you get one I can't say enough great things about the 350 qx3..

I feel you on this topic as i also had cracked manifolds and tried to purchase replacement with no luck so i just had to have them welded and coated. The welder i use did a great job and put extra metal in the areas where they were crack. They came out good and i just hope they hold up.

COSMO, gonna use your thread since I don't feel like opening up a new one. I've not caught up much.

Are you still sticking to the GT28RS turbos? I'm thinking in the future if I were to build up my motor I'd like to switch out the turbos for the GTX variety. Of course, that'll require a new manifold to the turbo. I rather not dump another $8-10k on a turbo kit and re-use and retrofit stuff. I'm pretty sure the existing manifolds would be useless by the time I decide to drop the motor and get new turbos. What do you think?

jaytirbhaw 03-23-2015 11:49 AM

cosmo, in regards to you needing a new manifold have you seen this >

@jaytirbhaw, we definitely need someone who can fab us some manifolds to fit Garret turbos, and then have a shop retrofit the pipes to our existing kits. I'm sure it'll be cheaper than dumping money on a brand new kit. Plus, be able to install external wastegates.

COSMO 03-24-2015 07:12 AM

I may upgrade to the 2871 or 2876 depending what will fit down there..

Garrett GT2876R Turbocharger

Jon @ Z1 suggested the same thing when I do built block. With the GTX swap they made 609whp @ 9 PSI with the stage II piping, GTX swap.
