Well, Santa aka FedEx delivered my injectors and flash cable today, which Sam@GTM overnighted to me as promised. Thanks Sam! Now, other than my oil cooler kit (which I was gonna build up myself, I decided to just get the kit from GTM) and a gauge cup for my Aeroforce gauge to match my Defi gauge cup, everything else I need I can get locally once I get the car on stands hopefully this weekend or next. (Oil pressure sender fittings, GTR spark plugs, wideband o2 bung welded in, couple things for wiring this whole mess) so finally.. finally, it's coming together. Goal is to be driving again by 1 March since there's a sponsorship meet I would really like to attend.

Voice, did you get your stuff too?

Oooooooooooo...the green filters, was tempted to try those on my SC when I did maintenance but already bought the K&N set a long time ago, thinking next time.

Congrats man, that's good news. Nah I haven't received so much as a phone call. I leave on deployment in a week as well, so I doubt I'll be seeing my kit for at least another 9 months. I'll be giving him a call tomorrow.

Voice59 02-06-2014 02:36 PM

I called him just now and I'm pretty sure I won't be getting it before I deploy which is next week and I'd be surprised if I get it even a couple months after that. I know they have a large workload but this is a shame.

snowsurfdirtx 02-06-2014 08:29 PM

I have a green filter on my FSWerks intake on my Focus ST.. I like it. Not sure how much the filter affects it, but that intake is VERY loud.. to the point that it sounds like it's got an aftermarket BOV/BPV lol

Sam sounded super stressed today, I called him as well. Hopefully they get yours out to you before you take off man.. I'm trying to do a quick lil 2 month deployment before summer, but I haven't heard anything yet. Would love a little extra $$ before it's time to play in the sun. At least when you get back, you'll be packin some extra dough and the kit will for SURE be finished and you'll have time to enjoy it

I have a question.
How long does it take for GTM to ship the Stage 1.5 SC kit once you pay for it?

Thanks!

<shrugs> No one actually knows for sure. Dealing with GTM is not a science.

Recently, it looks like it takes months.

Moussa,

We have had delays in manufacturing recently and those issues are being resolved. Expect much faster shipping times within the next 4-8 weeks.

Thanks for the answers, guys!
Thought that the delays were only affecting the TT MHI Kit and the rest was still going smoothly.

No hurry as my motor is not finnished yet either.
Im being very understanding so far but if my engine is not shipped by the end of the month. i will be really upset.
There will be lots to write about .
25,000.00 paid in full for both.

16 months and 25k later and now you're just starting to get impatient?

Z eliminator 02-12-2014 08:04 AM

The moter was started june 23 2013

z

Chuck33079 02-12-2014 08:11 AM

You gave them a fortune for the supercharger, got nothing in return for 8 months, and then gave them more money for a motor that they have been unable to complete in 8 months? And now you have nothing to show for the $25k youve paid? Are there no shops anywhere else in the world that can build a VQ? You've been way too patient.

No matter what they have told you, it does not take that long for a motor to be built.

Z eliminator 02-12-2014 10:45 AM

Its a 4.2 stroker engine with stage 3 heads.
The track open here the first week of April and im going to run the engine N/A, hoping to get into the high 11's.
I talk to Sam every week. i know that he was not well, and they shut down for christmas and he got shafted by the supplyer making the stage 3 motor mounts for the SC and had trouble with the valves for the heads.

Chuck33079 02-12-2014 10:48 AM

Isn't the compression ratio for a motor that's intended to see a lot of boost completely wrong for a NA motor?

And you're still being too nice. He owes you a lot of parts and you're letting him off the hook too easily.

Teardown begun today, I plan on having the fuel pump assembly removed and most stock parts removed by tonight, fuel pump assembly reinstalled in the AM, and then we'll work on the rest from there. Sam got back to me today, my oil cooler supplement kit will be here next week and I've also sent him my ECU information for him to start building my tune :) any questions or requests for pics and info, lemme know.

progress, and thanks to the guys that helped both here and at my house today.. one of the best investments (i'll snap a pic tomorrow) was organizer trays i found for labeling hardware. the ones where you put the dividers in yourself. write down where the nut/bolt/etc came from on the divider, which page it shows removing it in the tech data and boom. no question as to what came from what.

anyway, so the real pain in the *** today was the power steering lines. the ones on the rack itself suck to get to. the lines are a pain in the *** to remove too, the way they're routed and being solid and some braided inside, it took longer than expected. but, as she sits: hood removed, bumper removed, intakes completely removed, power steering pump, lines, brackets, cooler removed. alternator and brackets removed. radiator fans removed. airbag sensor moved. fuel pump assembly is ready to pull out, im gonna do it in the morning. coolant drained, rad hose removed, all needed plastic covers removed.

tomorrow: paint needed brackets, complete fuel pump job, wire Defi boost gauge and Aeroforce Interceptor gauge, pull header and art pipe.. then begin install of injectors, brackets, etc. hoping to get the supercharger mounted. day went well, bit more time consuming than I thought, but i also didn't rush it. here's a couple pics i snapped. more tomorrow, with the DSLR.. i'm exhausted..

WOW

i dont mean to derail your thread OP but sh!t, you have the patience of a rock, i mean im a pretty patient guy myself but id probably give myself an aneurism waiting that long just from the anger alone(i would have started raising hell by month 3)

I wish you luck brotha, big time
25G is a lot of money to go down the hole is GTM doesnt pull through

Z eliminator 02-22-2014 04:27 AM

Talked to sam last week. He said that it will be ready for shipping by the end of the month.

dropped all intake pieces / FMIC off to get satin black heat dispersant coating on some pieces and satin black thermal barrier coating on the others. also, didn't like the blue GTM connectors for the intakes to throttle bodies so i went and ordered some red ones. intakes should match the crossmember and the red i think will look pretty good against the satin.

about to go in the garage and mount the alternator, powersteering pump, idler pulleys and hopefully if I have time, install the drive belt!

Nice! I'm still waiting on some kind of info on mine. It's starting to get really frustrating. On top of that add the stress of being in the middle of the ocean on deployment and not having the ability to contact them and you can understand my mental state.

snowsurfdirtx 02-25-2014 12:00 PM

Yeah, I'm still waiting on info on my oil cooler. I keep calling and he say's he'll send the info over, but he sounds really stressed so I've been relaxed about it. I'll call again today cause I really need to install it soon, I'm not far away from finished now. I want to fire the car Friday. Kit is beautiful though, SERIOUS props to GTM on the work and how well everything is packaged, labeled and easy to figure out what is what.. you'll be happy once you see what you've got. PM me if you want me to ask about it when i call him, or George@GTM on here should be able to get in touch with Sam, since I know Sam can be hard to get through to via Email.

worked at it again today, the alternator was a bit of a pain in the ***. everything fit beautifully in the end, nice, tight and man it looks good. so clean. tomorrow im gonna work on finishing the power steering, reinstall the intake manifold, and start on the s/c oil lines.. i still need to finish wiring the fuel voltage stabilizer stuff but the pump assembly is back in the tank all safe and sound.

heres a pic after i got the belt on

sooo, i'm highly doubting i'll get to fire the car this week. I was trying hard to make it to a sponsorship selection meet this weekend but i still have no oil cooler. so unless it gets overnighted tomorrow(which I don't want to pay for) i've got to wait till next week. but i decided while the car is apart to take advantage..

build continues tomorrow, hope to have most of the supercharger lines routed, filter, tank, etc done. my intakes and FMIC will be back friday, so I can continue reinstalling stuff till i get to the point i need it.
