Wow. That's quite a list. I'm very interested in how the GTM fans fit with the CSF radiator since I'm looking at doing the same thing.
|
Thank you!
I will let you know how things goes. I read on CSF description that the thickness of CSF over stock goes toward the bumper not engine so i dont think ill have problem with that unless I have SC or MHI TT because their Intercooler is way to close to radiator for crash bar fit. |
Everything I've read leads me to believe it will fit fine. I'll still let someone else double check that in reality for me.
Any reason you're not going with bigger turbos? You've got everything you need to go big. |
I love the way the turbo spool I dont wanna ruin it after all these upgrades.
Who wants over 600 WHP on DD car? I dont. Still planning to get GTR manifold or daronracing Manifold when they release it. I think ill have enough torque to pull an elephant and thats enough for me (for now). |
Fair enough on the turbos. I made the same choice, and I couldn't be happier. For smaller turbos, they still can move some serious air if you turn up the boost.
I'm also interested to see if the turbo blankets fit well under the heat shields. Sam told me I probably wouldn't have room to do that. |
Yep thats exactly my goal :)
|
Wow great list. I believe this is IPP first built block for the g37. Would have loved to see the capabilities of what the motor could really handle.
I was curious as well why the small turbos for built block. You have everything you need to go for big power. What you're looking for could have been done on a stock block. I can't see the compression rating for your motor neither. Your block won't be the limiting factor. The turbos will probably start blowing hot air way before you reach the blocks potential. Good luck with the project. Ride looks awesome |
Going from memory, on a 3.7 with a stock redline, those turbos are still within the efficient part of the compressor map at 14-15 psi. That's still going to be a lot of power.
Plus, there's a lot to be said for overbuilding for reliability. |
:tup::tup: WOW:tup::tup:

Nice buid list. how many bills does that short block go for? |

Im not sure how come stock block could handle that 600 WHP on DD and track it anytime any weather you want. Stock can handle power but not for long and definitely not the the power plan im planning for. That being said, I can always change the exhaust manifold to GTM new manifold and the Garret T25+ new housing, that will push the efficiency of the turbos :) Quote:

First shortblock from IPP for VHR engines. Just give IPP a call and tell them what you want, they know what they are doing. They have a lot of good reviews in many threads. |

My CR is 9.5 :)
|
Ok, that's substantially lower.
|
WOW! This looks to be a great and VERY efficient/safe build, w/ LOTTTSS of room to grow down the road. Subbbbbing now
|
Looking forward to the end product. The potential is great.
|
Woah. Something just caught my eye. ATI makes a damper for the VQ37 now? Did this happen recently, or have I been living under a rock?
|
Was just about to post that too! Harmonic damper??? I want!
|
Between that and all of the new GTM goodies my disposable income is going to take a beating.

Here their post on their FB https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater Price is higher than what you see for other engines and thats because they are custom made and limited production. PM if you wanna know the price of it. might hurry up before they go away though. :tiphat: |

Thank you!! Quote:

wow :tiphat: speechless
looking forward to the completed ride |
Well done G37sHKS not taking any short cuts with this build, quality build with top notch quality parts, cant wait to see the finish results, and if all is executed perfectly, id say you would have the most complete G37 Period.

Nice parts list you have there in for results:tup:
Whats the power goal for high boost ? |
Quote:
Quote:
For now im looking to make 600 WHP on high boost anything beyond that will be a bonus for me, and 500 WHP on low boost My external wastegate sping is 10 PSI |
Your goals will be meet easily even at wastegate pressure with the 9.5 CR.
|
Indeed.
I dont want to be the king of the street or break the track record of VHR engines, I just want it to be engineered as is reliable on street but is fast on track. |

No problem man glad to see you going forward with the project I really think you should upgrade your housings to reach your goal of 600 whp on high boost with 9:5 CR. With the lower compression it's going to take more boost to make 500 plus WHP and to reach 600 WHP I think the turbos will run out of steam and hit a wall. I say this because two car's I know of that are local and built motor TT have yet to hit 600 whp . Your in Dubai it's hot you don't want to push the turbos to the limit and blow hot air into the engine your better off making more efficient power with bigger housings. |
Thats a good point.
Do you mind sharing the spec of build and power of these local guys like what PSI is the max they could go and what CR they have? I want to go to the limit with these turbos before upgrading. You and I know that we are waiting for GTM to release the T25+ housing for their new manifold so I really dont want to upgrade anything till GTM release the new technology :) |
