Another BORING Nitrous build starts
Well Just pulled the trigger on going nitrous! :happydance: Super excited to get everything started and originally I was planning on going with the NX kit with all add-ons but I decided to go with the Dynotune kit. Pricing is AMAZING and so much positive feedback with zero negative feedback I could find. This isn't going to be a super high HP build, just a 100 shot for some fun. I've got 70% of all the stuff I need to get in and waiting on a few more extras. This will be a picture HEAVY thread and I plan on showing EVERYTHING for those who are hesitant to go with nitrous due to the Fast and the Furious Saga that ruined the image of nitrous.
Build list: Dynotune Nitrous kit for 350z/370z HR Dual fogger wet system http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...psc98e1686.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps86350f18.jpg Dynotune Purge kit http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...psfd9d6bc9.jpg Dynotune Remote bottle opener http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps602db44d.jpg Dynotune TPS/RPM window switch http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps189a2760.jpg Dynotune Blow down tube kit http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps650af1dc.jpg Dynotune Bottle blanket http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps3e6d5183.jpg Dynotune Bottle warmer http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...psd705646a.jpg Dynotune Digital pressure gauge http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps276b6f5a.jpg Dynotune Liquid filled bottle pressure gauge http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps1925a72f.jpg Dynotune A/F Lean shut-down switch http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps85302c89.jpg Dynotune Switch panel with Arming switch/purge button/remote opener http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps92e6e341.jpg Auto Meter Tach Adapter http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...pse31e193e.jpg Bosch narrowband sensor http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...psf92d314f.jpg I will update each item with pictures as they arrive. I've purchased all the bells and whistles and got every safety measure I could get. I'm sitting just under $1700 for everything shipped to me in Hawaii. The purpose of this build page is mainly for people who are questioning whether its safe or what is needed make it safe. I know of plenty of people who have been interested in going this route for a long time and I'm excited to show them the way. Any negative comments or stupid "You're gonna blow you motor" crap will be marked as spam and removed. Negative feedback is welcome but not any stupid ignorant comments on how nitrous is unsafe because Paul Walker almost blew the welds off his intake manifold. Thanks all! |

And hey Chris, not sure if you know, but nitrous isn't safe, Paul Walker almost blew the welds off his intake manifold

Sub'd too and hoping for some good close up shots of install ;)
*Edit* Did you plan on using the switch that came with the bottle heater? I really don't like the basic toggle switch and was wondering if you have done any searches for new ones. *2nd Edit* I now see you got the switch panel. reading comprehension > me |
Sub'd
I'm interested to see how this turns out. |
Subd, always thought about going nitrous, hoping to learn something

I'm going to be utilizing the spare tire location as I'd like to go stealth. My new license plate should make it for some embarassing looks on peoples faces :) Also excited as the Transmission shop just told me that my 4.08 gears with Quaife LSD is ready to be picked up so that will go in this upcoming week also. |

Yeah I'll be utilizing the Dynotune switch panel but the best part about the warmer is it is an automatic warmer. Shuts itself off once it reaches a certain pressure. I'll have a digital pressure guage also to keep an eye on pressure and I can do consistent runs. |

GL man, you'll be done with your build probably before I get home to finish mine.

Sub'd. GL with the build. Welcome to the N20 world. "Now you got the Juice" :bowrofl:

More parts arrived last night! Bottle blanket, blowdown tube, A/F lean cut off switch, Bosch o2 sensor, Autometer tach adapter, and liquid pressure bottle gauge. Waiting on 1 more switch.....one of the most important which is the TPS/RPM window switch. I feel I might've got scammed on it but no worries as Paypal got my back if I need them too. Unfortunately the switch is discontinued and was lucky to find even that one. Might have to go a different route for TPS/RPM window switch.
BUT another good note is my diff is ready to go in today! 4.08 Gears, Quaife LSD, and Nismo Diff cover! http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps49803aed.jpg |

Ahhhhh....... Makes me want to refill my bottles and retune ...

with the nismo diff cover did you remember to pull the stud out of your old cover or did you get a new one.
edit: also need the breather tube |

Finally. A contact of mine has been in touch on and off with NOS about getting a a set-up put together for mine. But if you get this all to work I will go your route, but with NOS tanks.

The full basic nitrous setup from Dynotune with bottle is $500.....you'll be paying that for just 2 NOS bottles. Dynotune is a very reputable company when it comes to the nitrous world. If you're doing the NOS bottles just cause for the friend then OK but if you are paying all out of pocket on your own, Dynotune is an awesome setup. |
Curious to see how this turns out. Keep us up to date!

Hello all! First post and I migrated over here from my350z (can't take it over there anymore) to see how aftermkt is treating the 370z. Don't have a 370z but own a 350ZR running 100 shot..so good to see some N2O folks emerging on the VHR.
OP this is a great thread since you are documenting your placement & layout scheme. I found that type of info pretty slim when I installed my kit. Good choice on Dynotune! I run the dynotune digital gauge you bought as well, and a Nitrous Outlet kit. Very very happy with product, cost & service. Couple other things you may want to consider... 1. Nitrous Filter (cheap insurance) 2. Progressive Controller (manage that wtq) |

FINALLY received my last piece of my kit for now, the Dynotune TPS-RPM window switch! http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps189a2760.jpg Guy I bought it from was feeding me all sorts of BS and I thought I had got scammed to come home and find the package in the mailbox. I paid for it 2 weeks ago. He told me last Tuesday he shipped it out. Check the mailbox today and its there and its post marked June 11, 2013 which was 2 days ago...... Dunno why he acted like he had to lie and act like he shipped it. Probably finally got off his *** to do it once I threatened to file a dispute on paypal. Oh well, its here. I have what I need and I can carry on! Almost finished with my diagrams for wiring. Its kind of a mess so I'm not gonna post it until I have it cleaned up for people to use for better reference! Gonna start pulling the car apart next Wednesday and start running my lines on Thursday next week. A lot of pics will be added  |
Man I'm stoked about seeing how your build goes, makes me want to hurry up and come home and get mine back on track. You going Uprev with this? I am on the fence about Ecu Tek, I think that software may open up somethings for us, Z1 says it's looking promising and since they are doing the tune I may jump over to see how it does for us nitrous guys.
|
OP...what jetting are you contemplating for this 100 shot?
Also may want to buy your nitrous lines to the nozzle ,18-24" longer than your fuel lines to nozzle. Will soften "lean spike" which is common upon initial activation since the N2O is traveling at a much faster psi than your fuel. Just a tip to consider. |
in for results!
|
So no updates so far for the Nitrous install. Moved to a new town home but do have some bad news. 4.08 gears and Quaife LSD got installed last Wednesday with about 400 miles on them and they started to whine really loud. Pulled the diff out again today and reinstalled my original diff. Shop is taking a look at it tomorrow to figure out what happened. Gonna start ripping my interior out today and tomorrow so I can start planning where everything is gonna go. Was hoping to get started on that today but no luck. Hope to get this project underway full fledged here over the next week!
