For what it's worth, I'm 20 miles south of San Francisco and even have views of it from my property. Ask me if I care about smog-tests and/or CARB.

Lots of peeps don't want the hassle of finding and paying a shady smog place to pass them, though.

or, a blower change if you followed the last S/C kit. blower was undersized for anything more than 350rwhp.

It has absolutely nothing to do with paying off a "shady smog place."

C'mon, now...just try to imagine how many highly modified late-model cars there are driving around the LA or Bay Area. From Supras and Evos to Corvettes and Vipers...do you really think these cammed, straight-piped, upgraded-turbo cars are all returned back to stock for a smog-test? On that note, do you really think the only people who drive modded cars are the ones with "hook ups" at "shady smog places" and everyone else is SOL?

No.

LOL, of course heavily modded cars aren't returned to stock every time they have a smog check. Who ever said they did? Most with heavily modded cars have a hook-up at a smog shop and pay them extra under the table to pass them. Several people I know do. If you're saying that it's cheap and easy to do this, that's fine for you, however, I guarantee that there are many that simply don't wanna deal with this.

The beauty of NY... hook up the OBDII, so long as you haven't thrown a CEL recently, you pass. :D

I can only guess they didn't use a M90 on the 350z kit because the hood would have looked even more ridiculous.. I'm sure they learned their lesson and will go a different direction this time (if they want it to sell).

Psh i live in wisconsin they only ask you to get your car inspected if you piss off a cop and he decides to give a non conforming citation for exhaust that is to loud, or if you restore a salvaged vehicle. unless you live in milwaukee or madison then you get the SEL check.

RCZ 09-01-2009 04:27 PM

Here in miami you need to speed past a cop with open headers to get pulled over for that type of thing

1slow370 09-02-2009 02:50 AM

Yeah sorry wisconsin pulls you over based on the car your in and how it sounds mostly. You drive past a cop in a camaro or a mustang with open headers and you'll be fine unless your speeding(I've done it). The Synchro Rev match gets left on and you rev going down into first rolling up at a light and he's looking at you dirty. I LOVED seeing this integra with straight pipes going on to the highway at a bit faster than normal speed and a cop was coming the opposite way under the highway pulled a U turn and pulled the guy over on the ramp and popped his hood. Dude wasn't even speeding so they probably gave him "unnecessary use of acceleration" (which is one of the 5 or so catch alls)

+1 :iagree:

the GTM supercharger kit is "more than 50%" done. a representative said both their S/C & TT z34's will be featured in SEMA.

he put links to their page
and i checked it out.

it said 450rwhp for S/C
500rwhp for TT

i wanna see the final product of the S/C kit..

is 450rwhp with a pulley drop or stock pulley?

Equinox 09-03-2009 08:52 AM

450whp I imagine is with stock pulley and more reliability in mind.

NewYorkJon34 09-03-2009 09:38 AM

450hp would be perfect for a dd street set-up, I'd like to get at least 350tq, which I think is possible

rreign 09-03-2009 10:15 AM

+1 on that. I think it's very feasible to see around 350ft lbs and 450whp
