It's crazy wild for sure. After talking to Sam a few days ago you can tell in his voice it's a life changing experience. Sam is a great guy and is very passionate about what he does. He will talk cars all day if not to busy. Sam and GTM as a hole are some true innovators for our cars. Not to mention Sam couldn't do it without is team.

So tower74 what's the here say on the Garrett turbo being ''used" or ''used on another subbie"?

....I will apologize in advance of this question.

I have a plain jane stock engine with tp's and exhaust. I had on order the 18g kit, so now going with the Garrett BB turbos I should get the GT2860RS with the 0.86 A/R turbine housing ???

Now, for some good news: as a reward for bearing with us for as long as many of you have, we are offering the Garrett ball bearing turbos as a no-cost upgrade to those that want some ball bearing goodness.

Normally, this would be quite a bit more expensive, but we are offering it to those that want to take advantage of it. For comparison purposes, the 16g is comparable to the GT2860RS turbos with a 0.64 A/R turbine housing. The 18g is similar in response to the GT2860RS with the 0.86 A/R turbine housing in terms of response, but the 18g has an advantage in power. That said, the stock engine is realistically only capable of sustaining up to ~630chp for a daily driven application. So, even though the 2860RS turbos with the 0.86 A/R turbine housings are “only” capable of 700chp and the 18g turbos are capable of 800chp, it’s a moot point on a stock engine. Now, if you are going to be running a built engine and want a turbo comparable to the 18g, then Garrett’s GT2871R with the 0.64 A/R turbine housing is the answer. That said, it is a significantly more expensive turbo and we simply cannot offer it as a free upgrade at this price point, but as a $400 upgrade.

We will be posting a schedule as soon as Sam and I have an opportunity to catch up on the expected delivery times from our suppliers.

Wow, glad to hear Sam is ok. I wish him a speedy recovery.

I don't think that's fair. The kit's been delayed well past the original date with no real set timetable for shipping, and there's no mention of any of this until last night other than some vague "I know but I won't tell" posts.

It is fair,me and Chris (SPOHN),Dzel have been hinting as much as we could b/c we were told not to say anything but most people did not want to listen to 3 established members so yes it is fair!
