Best of luck on Sam's recovery. It's terrible hearing more bad news since picking up mine a couple weeks ago. But what a great offer for these guys. That's fantastic! Who doesn't like free turbo upgrades?

That's a great deal for the guys in the group buy. Good job taking care of the customers.

Wow. That's pretty damn scary. Glad he pulled through. That's something that can end you in a hurry. Pass along all of our best wishes.

It's crazy wild for sure. After talking to Sam a few days ago you can tell in his voice it's a life changing experience. Sam is a great guy and is very passionate about what he does. He will talk cars all day if not to busy. Sam and GTM as a hole are some true innovators for our cars. Not to mention Sam couldn't do it without is team.

So tower74 what's the here say on the Garrett turbo being ''used" or ''used on another subbie"? :icon14:

Being the turbo-tard that I am :hello:....I will apologize in advance of this question.

I have a plain jane stock engine with tp's and exhaust. I had on order the 18g kit, so now going with the Garrett BB turbos I should get the GT2860RS with the 0.86 A/R turbine housing ???

Well that's ironic (Garrett bb upgrade) given the conversation here today....

Anyway, there are things in life that are far more important than boost. Best of luck to Sam and a speedy recovery.

This decision had been made way before we had our little talk today. Either way your out.

Sam will be in our prayers. Thanks Mike for the update. Sometimes we forget that vendors are real people to.

Yes, I realize that... I was saying it was ironic because the ball bearing debate was started by someone "not in the know". Also, I was never in. I've been committed to my turbo build for awhile now. You know the one you were committed to before this one, but after the other one.

Enjoy your apparent sense of entitlement? :ughdance:

Ow hawksausage let's not start trying to figure out who's wings are bigger than who's. Let's keep this on topic. With the people that matter which are the ones committed to this buy.

lulz...

Sounds like good news and good news with Sam's successful surgery and speedy recovery to go along with the free upgrade. Are all of us in the group buy eligible? I only joined 2 days ago!

Are there any drawbacks to going with the Garretts? I seem to remember a post that suggested using the Garretts might necessitate drilling the upper oil pan - any merit to that? Any other ways the layout of the kit might differ with the different turbos?

Great customer service! Really unbelievable.

I would like to know this as well.

What a traumatic experience for Sam. I'm glad that he's ok and I hope he recovers quickly. Kudos to GTM for offering this as well.

Best wishes to Sam and his recovery!

side note, that dual boost turbo is in use already, new ford superduty diesel v8 the 6.7 scorpion uses it.

SPOHN 10-04-2013 03:24 AM

And for the two guys that asked about the Garrett turbo oil return line. No you will not have to tap the upper oil pan. We will still be using the GTM oil baffle pan for our source of return.
