So tower74 what's the here say on the Garrett turbo being ''used" or ''used on another subbie"? :icon14: |
Being the turbo-tard that I am :hello:....I will apologize in advance of this question.
I have a plain jane stock engine with tp's and exhaust. I had on order the 18g kit, so now going with the Garrett BB turbos I should get the GT2860RS with the 0.86 A/R turbine housing ??? |

Sounds like good news and good news with Sam's successful surgery and speedy recovery to go along with the free upgrade. Are all of us in the group buy eligible? I only joined 2 days ago!
Are there any drawbacks to going with the Garretts? I seem to remember a post that suggested using the Garretts might necessitate drilling the upper oil pan - any merit to that? Any other ways the layout of the kit might differ with the different turbos? Great customer service! Really unbelievable. |

What a traumatic experience for Sam. I'm glad that he's ok and I hope he recovers quickly. Kudos to GTM for offering this as well. |
Best wishes to Sam and his recovery!

side note, that dual boost turbo is in use already, new ford superduty diesel v8 the 6.7 scorpion uses it.

And for the two guys that asked about the Garrett turbo oil return line. No you will not have to tap the upper oil pan. We will still be using the GTM oil baffle pan for our source of return.
