Terrible how many axles have you broken?

clutch/flywheel,csc, rear diff. brushings and wideband o2 sensor bung installed

after the clutch is broken in

we start the tuning march. (93 and e85)

also does anyone know what the rear axles on the 370z can hold ?

How's the e85 tune coming? I might go e85 in the summer.

Nissan370 01-31-2014 05:04 AM

Well once I get the car back and break the clutch in we can start tuning in march
they found a bad power steering leak so all the hoses had to be replaced

Nissan370 02-02-2014 06:29 PM

Got the car back Friday from the shop
Looks like they installed every thing but never toke the car out on a test drive

Half way home the clutch would not return to the top position and stops half way
Next day I can't even get the car into gear

Did a little research and decided to bleed the clutch. I got pressure back drive the car for 5mins then the clutch starts sticking again.

Looks like I will be calling them tomorrow to have my car tolled back to them and fixed

Joepro 02-02-2014 07:31 PM

You have to bleed the crap out of that thing...joe has a special bleeding procedure...I did not when I did mine but most say replace the master as well if you didn't.

Did they replace the CMC? I would look at replacing that if they didn't.

I can drive the car normal but any kinda booost and she slips like crazy

So whats a good clutch to go with or do I need to spend 2grand for the mult. Disc clutch
Or is that just over kill

I have the original(very first kit) from S&R... and the only issue I had was a PS leak, and their original tune was a little lean...

I got the OS Giken clutch, and it's worth it..

Nissan370 02-04-2014 01:00 PM

Cheap part. Easy fix. :tiphat:

Joepro 02-04-2014 04:36 PM

Ya if that's all it is you'll be fixed in no time.

Nissan370 02-07-2014 10:47 AM

ok clutch all fixed it was the master.
so now have to take a few long drives to get to 500mile breakin and its off to talk to my tuner

but so far the car feels a hell of a lot better so far as response

I love the big ST... and I love that driving around town can be easy as if the car was stock :)

COSMO 02-12-2014 11:53 AM

Any dyno's?

Nissan370 02-13-2014 05:31 AM

Lol not close
most likely March with all the bad weather have not been able to move the car

Nissan370 02-21-2014 11:57 AM

small update the clutch is broken in.
my wheel hop has been greatly reduced with the addition of the whiteline bushings

only major change is:
may have to go this route

93 tune
93 water/meth tune ( stg2 snow performance kit still wired up just need to rerun lines to work with new setup)
race gas tune (for the track)

instead of this route

93 tune
e85 tune

well have to see about the e85 only 2 of them with in 45mins of me so not sure if i want the hassel of a 45min drive just to full up.

i do have a gas station near me that sells 100oct race gas@$10 a gallon
but for all that i can get 116oct from the drag strip.

Nissan370 03-14-2014 07:26 AM

Minor up date.
Got all my parts to mount my water - meth in the trunk
Just waiting on my cjm. Fuel system

Side note. I bumped my tire psi from 32 to 40 and my wheel hop from a dead stop on light gas is gone.
But still there if I try to say do a burnout.

Nissan370 04-22-2014 06:08 AM

finally the car is back in the shop to have the cjm return stg 0 kit,1000cc injectors and retune
were going to try and push for 600+ on 93 we will see. as long as its safe im fine with it .

i still have to get the water-meth installed but i can wait on that.

Nissan370 06-05-2014 12:57 PM

hmmm still waiting on a tune.
injectors i got from deatwerk were sticking open so had to replace them with ID injectors

but so far the return fuel system is in.

ps : so now i have a set of 1000cc injectors from deatwerk that i need to return or try and sell and
a set of 900cc injectors i got from gtm that i had to have flow tested because they were giving me problems selling them too.

COSMO 06-05-2014 01:06 PM

They won't take them back and refund your money?

Nissan370 06-09-2014 08:28 AM

i will find out. worst case i will just sell them.

Nissan370 06-13-2014 11:02 AM

Ok I will be getting the car back today
But I'm a little pissed

After all was done it made 530 rwhp and I'm being told that I'm being limited by the maf meter wtf?

COSMO 06-13-2014 11:11 AM

your pissed about 530whp? You do not want to push the stock block much more than that...

Nissan370 06-13-2014 12:16 PM

Nissan370 06-13-2014 12:17 PM

I'm on a fully built block

FireDan50 06-13-2014 01:19 PM

I'm in the same situation being limited by the MAFs....too much air/voltage going to the MAF...need to upgrade MAFs too now.

Nissan370 06-13-2014 02:09 PM

Will after all the money I just spend I'm going to have to live with it til next year
I had some exhaust leaks, did the return system, a full tunefrom the ground up,, bad o2 sensors , a sticking injector and A seal on the blow off gasket
1500 budget went to almost 4k fast. :shakes head: still at work pissed thinking
if I get the car back maybe I will feel better

MidnightBlueZ 06-13-2014 06:04 PM

Sorry to hear you're limited by such small things yet costly things.. I can imagine the frustration. Did you lower compression too? I didn't see you specs on the build. I know Dan is pushing 600+whp on stock block and MAFs.

I need bigger mafs as well, I only made 520whp...and it won't go much higher

Sorry to here that you didn't get them numbers you were looking for because of still being on stock MAF's. Just take your time enjoy the car as is for now and upgrade the MAF's later.

Nissan370 06-14-2014 10:17 AM

Yeah my compression is 9.1cr and I think Dan did a race gas tune to hit the 600 mark
I was under the impression that a lot more people were hitting 550 or so wwith there turbo kits and stock maf
now that I think about it not sure if vsr turbo kits us 3" or 2.75 intake pipe
and my lower cr maybe hurting me as well

Those seems to be solid numbers for low compression, how much boost did it take? Once you get around to swapping those MAFs you should be golden! Yeah dan is on race gas for the 600 mark. I'm not positive on the i.d. of the intake piping looks less than 3". Yeah obviously needs more boost with the lower cr.

gbrettin 06-14-2014 12:32 PM

I would be a little pissed too but you get to have fun with 500+hp in the mean time. Nice builds tend to be about the marathon not the sprint.

JWillis72 06-14-2014 12:41 PM

Just curious, what do upgraded MAFs cost?

Nissan370 06-14-2014 12:44 PM

So far looks like it's just 10psi.

Car is running ok since i picked it up Friday . Just the idle is a little high.
I'm going to beat on it a little this weekend and see how she holds up.
and ya your right it's not about the sprint. Guess i need to slow down, stop spending and enjoy the dam thing
well at least I'm set up for my goal maf and Retune

Nissan370 06-14-2014 12:48 PM

Uprev maf gt sensors $350.00 each reads 180% more air flow then stock
$350 × 2

For just 10 psi that's not bad at all.. Considering you have lower cr and make the same power that you did before with stock high cr. Hell yeah man go enjoy that thing.. Should be able to take a beating lol.

Nissan370 06-21-2014 05:49 AM

so have to go see my tuner for a check up may be nothing major
when i start the car up to warm it i get a p300 code misfire random cylinders misfire
maybe nothing i dont normal get the code once i clear it and drive the car

also i am eating a lot of fuel up and maybe thats a by of going full return under full load i am seeing my afr gauge dip as low as 10.7 and that seams a bit rich to me

i will go see them next week maybe leaning her out just a tad will help on the fuel saving and bump the ponies up a few

0r it could be as simple as a failing spark plug we will see

MidnightBlueZ 06-21-2014 06:21 PM

Hmm who was the tuner? My tune needs to be touched up too I think. I get weird lean outs around idle at times and it's running a little richer than usual.

Nissan370 06-23-2014 06:28 AM

got the car retuned at je imports by james since they did most of the work
frank at hills garage is just way to busy
still even being alittle richer then i would like i can hammer this thing all day
after running the car kinda hard last few days i still did not run it to redline i think i need to. to get any idea what the afr looks like
i got a feeling he kept the middle rich to lower the torque numbers

Nissan370 08-22-2014 01:34 PM

so i went to the track last friday to see if i could get any good runs in.
it was a epic fail.
first run was 14.01 @ 101mph with ungodly wheel hop and a misses shift

second run 13.7 @110mph i tried to slip the clutch but i was shifting at 5500 rpms
third run was a 13.4 @113mph i greot a little better launch but i was still shifting way way to early 6k

so yes i need more track time my first time at the track this year
i am looking into rear camber and tracksion arms
i toke a closer look under the car at the bushings and there not in the best shape
as for my times i was pissed even with the stillen i was running 116-117 trap

for some reason the fear of braking something was in the back of my mine the whole time lol
