U can install all the TT kits out there so far with the motor in. Makes life a helluva lot easier to install with the motor out.

djtodd 01-19-2013 09:13 PM

I hope I dont need to upgrade to 3" with a stage 1 kit

You don't. Tony specifically mentioned that on the phone earlier in the week. If you wanted to go stage2+, you probably want to move to the 3" though.

The 2.5" is perfect for the stage I kit.

Thanks, Tony

Are you guys going to dyno with test pipes/2.5" exhaust and the full blown 3" turbo-back?

I'd be interested to see how they compare.

The plan is to dyno the car with stock cats and our 2.5" CBE first. Right after that we will dyno it with our straight test pipes and 2.5" CBE. To finish things off we will dyno it with our 3" down pipes and 3" CBE. Yes, 3" down pipes! They do not exist yet but they will soon.

We will do low boost with 91 octane and turn the boost up with VP 100 octane.

Stay tuned, the next month is going to be fun...

Thanks, Tony

In theory, yes. We have designed the kit that it can be installed either way. Our installation instructions and video will show how to install the kit by only dropping the motor. In the end that is the best way to ensure everything is installed properly.

Thanks, Tony

Update,

I will be adding some new pictures early this week. I will add them to my first post in this thread. Once I do so, I will post in a normal reply that there are new pictures up for viewing.

Thank you, Tony

Wow...just wow. I think if the numbers are good and the price is not a death sentence to my wallet then I think I just found a new system. Don't get me wrong the 481hp(STS) I'm putting down is nice but with twins and an actual exhaust system leaves some much more room to grow. In for the end and the kit looks great. Nice work.

Nice work Tony! I wish my undercarriage looked this purrrty.

BEAUTIFUL Tony. I trust the craftsmanship will be on par with the exhaust systems. Just when I told myself I'd never put my 7A/T in harms way....this comes along.

mikey1600 01-22-2013 05:34 AM

always a question that comes up not sure if anyone else has asked,

will this suit RHD vehicles?

See Q&A on Pg. 1

Question: Will this kit fit the RHD (right hand drive) model?

Answer: I am not certain but I would venture to say no it will not fit. Until I have a RHD car in our shop to do a test fit I will not know. Anyone who wants to send one our way, just shoot me an email.

dmhenderson 01-22-2013 07:01 PM

Sorta new to forced induction. Assuming I already have the fast intentions TDX and hi-flow cats - other than yanking off my stillen G3 and getting the car re-tuned, what else would I need to install these assuming price isn't an object...?

tower74 01-22-2013 08:05 PM

One question...gauges...will they be supplied or is that something we will have to supply?

blackonorange 01-22-2013 08:40 PM

You'll have to supply as per usual

pretty sure tony is offering a turn key and a tuner option.

turn key kits typically come with bigger injectors, fuel pump, tune, and maybe a couple extras just to make a complete kit.

tuner kit is usually just the turbo kit (turbos, piping, intercooler, hardware) and then it is up to end user to pick what size injectors, fuel pump, etc.. you want to fit the kit to your own specs. since stage 2 kit and produce a lot of power with bigger injectors etc..

other than the typical extras the other options is getting a oil cooler is almost a must.

also if you have a 7AT then a transmission cooler is a good buy. if you want big power on a AT as well the GTM stage 4 tranny upgrade is a good option to handle alot of HP and TQ.

Scribe 01-23-2013 11:01 AM

I'm very curious to see what the intercooler and pipe routing setup looks like, whether the crash bar is retained, and of course the cost.

Yes, one of the primary reasons I went with the GTM TT (before this kit was even released).

yea i got a quote whenever they first announced their newest TT kit with the dual intercoolers but that and the transmission price was a bit of sticker shock for me haha

reldas 01-23-2013 04:36 PM

to bad for RHD cars :( GTM is my only option now.

Yeah, for me the surprise was how expensive doing gauges is. I am also doing a bunch of cooling upgrades. Those two things almost totaled the cost of the TT kit, haha.

Not a terrible option!

elperuano 01-23-2013 08:21 PM

All depends on what kind of gauges u go with. The HKS camp 2 is expensive but there are other options as well that cost far less.

Cambinese 01-24-2013 10:36 AM

Forget the new pics! How about the numbers!!!

I just went with standard Defi gauges. The expense is in the proper install since it requires removing the whole dash.

And the fact that along with a 300-400 dollar controller each gauge is nearly 300 dollars each.

You can get electronic stand alone gauges for around 60-70 each.

But back on topic, can't wait to see some more of the custom hardware for this kit. Should be pretty sweet.

F.I. Inc. 01-24-2013 12:56 PM

Update,

We are finishing up the polishing process of all of the innercooler tubing. Everything is going back on the car very shortly and I will be posting pictures of a "fully assembled kit" as promised.

I will be back shortly...

Thank you, Tony
