The clutch fluid is not discolored but is a little low. With the clutch pedal not depress, their is a audible whine that is getting louder with age that appears to be coming from the gearbox area. The driveshaft has a little play in it when I last checked it while up on a lift.

Do you think it is time for a clutch replacement?

Sounds like a throw out bearing. Does it go away when you depress the clutch?
