Now is not the time for you to worry about that. :bowrofl:

Doesn't it lean more towards knock if it gets louder while under load or driving? But knock u should be able to hear from the top correct?

Maybe an exhaust leak. Have you removed the O2 sensors? Or have you had the headers out? It doesn't sound like a knock to me either but it's tough to tell on video.

No man. Never had the manifolds or O2'S out at anytime.

No, not at all. It means there is pre-detonation of the intake charge i.e. before the spark plug fires. The "knock" is the shockwave that go back through the engine.

Right, but people seem to refer to a knock of this type to be a sign of a bent rod. Surly this engine is not detonating at idle.

Sounds like more on the valve's has anyone adjusted the gaps of your valves?
Or it could also one of the rocker arms is loose.
Doesn't sound like a knock

O first to answer everyone at once. Oil level is full, had it changed last week . I can not hear it from the top of the motor only down behind the passenger tire. i like some off the replies its not knock. But if it was the timing chain should I hear it up top also?. And yes the noise is there at idle but will get louder driving.

.. i hate to say it, but that is prolly knock...

lifter tick usually quiets down as rpm (and oil pressure) rises

ANMVQ 11-05-2012 04:28 PM

Hey no one has had part of the top of the motor apart . if the valves where ticking I would hear it on top also. top of the motor is no noise at all just on the bottom.

To me that sounds like rod/bearing knock. I had an engine tha spun a bearing due to oil starvation (not a VQ) and it sounded just like that. It is a mechanical issue for sure.

Z eliminator 11-05-2012 05:03 PM

mine did the same thing it sounded like a hammer hitting the back right side of the intake cover.
It was a cracked flex plate.
this happens when the torque converter comes loose.
the wheel is full of spider cracks .
mine was junk.
got lucly and they replaced it under warrenty.
go back to the guy who installed your engine and ahve him inspect your flex plate,
remove the bolt cover where the torque converter is ..

Yikes!

Now it is that time for you to take out your note that you had your dealer wrote saying they'll cover your warranty even with the supercharger.

Good luck!

No one ? Motor and trans have never been out of the car.
Weiboy that paper is on my table and it is the Infiniti system. when I went to get the TB. codes fixed they told me it was in my history notes. So we'll see .

Even more reason to lean towards knock if the motor was never touched. Could be from trying to make it all work and probably the countless dyno runs trying to tune that lead to this. Hope for t
