I think its douchebaggery to NOT say how much you paid. I can understand about talking about how much your salary is and blah blah blah. But whenever I ask its cause I would like to make sure some vendor isnt trying to take complete advantage over me. I can understand if you have a certain sponsorship with a company or vendor and have a contractual agreement not to talk to outside sources about what you are and arent getting in a business agreement. But when someone asks how much you paid its for us all to know and have the right to know and some some poor dude thats one of us doesnt get screwed paying thousands more than he should have paid. Thats also why I dont like how private classifieds are required to publicly post a price yet vendors arent required too in there posts that claim to have lowest, best prices out there...
