I'm pretty sure they are the same flanges Sasha, however, they may be in a different position (distance) than the the FI system....
I can always bring the car by in the Spring to have you check it out for any custom HKS builds you have orders pending for.

Thanks for the correction on that, and for the offer on the car. Something to keep in mind I guess.

I would only take a day to make the kit fit this exhaust, and only the Y-section would have to be midified. Not a big deal at all. The F.I exhaust Y-pipe would bolt up to this, the length may be the only issue.

Having it fit the HKS exhaust would be awesome! It would really help me be sold on the kit.

That being said, I read earlier on your thread that you were planning on resuming production on the kits for a May sale time? I'm currently debating forced induction for my car, and I really like how easy the install is. It's probably the biggest selling point there is for me. ^^

I will see what I can do regarding the exhaust fitment.

Correct on the production. It seems like I get at least one requst per week from those that really want to get in on the next batch of kits. Looks like there is no end (of work for me) in sight...

It's not a lack of balls, it's an overabundance of brain cells. :tiphat:

I really hope people aren't "on hold" for this kit because of an exhaust of their choice they would rather use (other than OEM or FI).

Any exhaust shop can modify or make a y-pipe to mate up to any exhaust for $75-150.

:iagree:

I'm getting a shop to remove the resonators and rework the flanges from my Berk exhaust to mate up with Sasha's piping. It's going to cost me a good chunk more than $150 but it will be worth it.

With the next batch of kits, I will not be taking deposits till the exhaust piping is complete. I am also hoping to get some stock built up before May, so I gave myself some extra time.

This is 100% true, but people are still hesitant for some reason. This is also the main readon I made the down pipe the way it is....leaving options for different exhaust open.

It is just the nature of a single turbo kit I guess.

Alstann 01-03-2013 06:53 AM

Honestly, I'm not too worried about the exhaust not mating up - I have many shops around me that could make one that fits no pressure. I just happened to notice the similarity between the FI TDX and the HKS Hi Power.

Either way, I am definitely interested in one of these kits Sasha. May is actually a perfect time for me - I still have to sort out a few more finances, as well as supporting drivetrain mods. ^^

It took me forever to find even these boxes. Had to be large enough and strong (double wall) enough. In the end, they end up in the garbage anyway so I did not think the outside lable makes a difference.

Yeah I should be. I'm very sure my wife would cause severe harm to me if I didn't get the driveway shovelled and neglected to feed our 3 year old. :rofl2:

Edit: I can attest to the fact that 350z DE longtubes do fit our cars on a case by case basis though. At least the flanges are in the right spots. (The primaries themselves may interfere with other components though, the particular set we tested fit fine however)

i installed the momentum headers today with DE OEM cats for the moment until my test pipes come in. everything lined up perfect with no need to modify a thing.the DE cats bolted straight up to my exhaust. the driver side header was a pain the *** to put in though so we had to loosen the motor mount to angle the motor to slide it in but the alignment is the same. i HIGHLY plan on ordering this kit in may so i will just need to request special flanges i guess. i feel like i always ask you on special requests lol. first to ask you about the oem oil cooler and now momentum headers lol. what else can i dig up?

NitrousZ34 01-04-2013 06:41 AM

How well would the momentum headers work with this kit sasha? They make great gains it seems just with a NA motor. Curious to see results on this

The Momentum headers are a great product. Proven on both the DE and VHR engines, so I would not hesitate on those.

My only concern would be the angles at which the 3-bolt flanges sit. If they are a different angle than the VHR header flanges, the manifold will not fit perfectly.

I will check and see how the VHR turbo manifold sits on the DE engine with aftermarket headers and report back.

thanks sasha! swapping back to HR Headers wont stop me from this kit but saving me 5 hours for reinstall would be nice lol

was approved for a CC with 18 months no interest. Should I pull the trigger or pay for other things that I really need for my carrier?

Look to spend about another 2-3k (with cutting no corners) on the car after the turbo for things like gauges and clutches.
