So that's it for boost leak test on our kit? Simply pop off both filters, plug one end, and plug the boost leak tester on the other end?

The 7at that have blown were mostly due to negligence on the part of the tuner IMHO.

Where do you find the correlation between the tranny frying and the tuner?

In Uprev there is torque management. This allows the tuner to have some ability to "tune" the tranny. In 7ATs this is very important.

The trannys that have blown, including mine, the torque management was not utilized by the tuner.

I am about to have my car transported to GA to get the car retuned and the tranny finally "tuned".

Cool, keep me posted on how it goes. I'd love to get a supercharger or turbos for this car at some point, but having an auto and seeing them eat themselves has given me pause.

LafitteZ 03-02-2012 10:57 AM

I had a procharger on my drop top auto 350z and i beat the **** out of it with no problem. I just added a cooler and temp gauge to make sure it didnt get extremely hot and I had no problems. The auto in the 370 has got to be stronger. a supercharger would be more forgiving on the auto tranny because of the more linear power delivery.

You are getting your transmission replaced under warranty even with your TT installed?

kosstick 03-02-2012 11:18 AM

I took my Auto Gtm stage 2 SC to a runway event and went up to 145ish mashing it in 5th gear towards the end repeatedly..... My tranny held up fine and haven't had a problem.

LafitteZ 03-02-2012 04:03 PM

yea its gonna be a hit or miss problem just like the manuals.

blackonorange 03-02-2012 04:04 PM

Hope mine holds up the only thing that made noise on mine stock was the Csc and thru said its normal

Yeaaaaa sureee i said i was gonna stay Na to. You drive a 600 horse power challenger you now have the boost bug. Good luck shaking that my friend. Im hooked

Baer383 03-02-2012 07:30 PM

It seems that the twin turbo's are what is killing the auto, the SC brings on the power a little softer.

If you ask all the guys that had their trans fried I bet you over 90% are TT.

Ron 03-02-2012 07:30 PM

That is why if I ever get a DD its gonna be a piece of crap that causes no temptation to mod lol

W.O.W. 370Z 03-02-2012 07:32 PM

My 7at fried only 3 and 4th gear. The transmission flare from 3-4 was foreshadowing dom.

You didn't have your trans tuned with Uprev.

I had my trans done @ Z1 when they tune my engine, night and day difference in the trans from driving there and driving home.

W.O.W. 370Z 03-02-2012 08:25 PM
