Gauge set-up, misc. electronics, Seibon VSII hood, and some duct work to direct hot air out of the engine bay. Still waiting on the hood though............and TDX:shakes head:

Installing it myself saved me lotsa $$$$

I am only into mine for a little under $11k Only :D

LOL........Defi boost, AFR, and oil pressure in stock location. Oil temp, water temp, and EGT on A-Pillar. HKS boost controller and turbo timer installed in the cubby. Reworked Ipod/Android connections in the center console (removed the stupid tray). Nothing special, just didn't want to have stuff just flapping around in the car. That is why I said misc. electronics.

I really want to remove/move the power port under the dash, but haven't figured out where to install it. I have also been kicking around the idea of purchasing the CF interior pieces, but I have been focussing on performance oriented items and placement of electronics. I already have my audio components haging out in the garage. Just need a GT-R start button and I'm good. Also looking @ a set of Swifts (and maybe Koni's) but I can't afford to drop the car any, since Killeen and Baltimore roads are pretty horrible.

Cosmetics will be Seibon VSII hood, headlights and JDM tails modded by 180 Customs, and Stillen inspired bumper mod.

Let's put it this way....I bought the system in June of 2011. It took until August to get the system (had already handed over $10,000 before one thing had been done). Never dealt with the shop, hell never even heard of them.
I had left them my car for 6 weeks to install the system while I was out of town working. Got back in town and not one thing had been done except my dust level had increased on my car.
It took them another 2 weeks to install the system because I was calling every single day. I dropped almost $12,000 on the system without doing major research, big mistake on my part.:shakes head:
Don't get me wrong I love the system but being the first AT7 STS turbo wasn't worth all the headaches. I now have to spend more money to buy a remote oil filter because the intake pipe is blocking it...joy.
I know a lot more from reading all the complaints and knowledge from the members on this forum. Most guys will answer your questions with little bs or sh*t talking because you want to learn. These guys are more than willing to share the info and glad to help you out.
Read, read, read.....but most all research.

wow man, you handed over 10grand with zero research into the shop....

soooo ive got some beach front property in arizona id love to sell you...

Beach front property sounds really nice right now, Washington is a little cloudy and wet.

IMHO I would say an almost endless amount of money , patient's and a little stupidity/crazy . 10k to go fast for a very limited time is well not worth it for most people .The car has its own faults already (over heating , icemode ,fuel starvation, VVEL ) for track use thats why no one tracks a FI 370z . but if you want her to drag or just limited spirited driving then go for it . Other wise there are better platforms out there . big V8 , evo, sti etc .

I wouldn't count VVEL as a fault at all. As far as the other issues that people are seeing with serious track use, they have documented workarounds and some can be mitigated/eliminated.

For the OP:

Whatever you decide to do, take a moment to plan it out AND plan for failure. That way you can get back to normal without much downtime.

pyrrhus17 01-27-2012 12:19 PM

Well i really meant vvel isn't (cracked ) but i wouldn't count vvel as a bonus either ,It does cause the motor to run HOT ( yes ,oil cooler ) and for FI I would suggest a new radiator . i just wanted to say for someone who wished to mod their car and do some parttime track time I would not tell them to buy a 370z IMHO . IF you want a street rod with minor track use then its fine or more track time means no FI .Thats pretty clear from most peoples experiences not all but most . I think when you read about the Z and see all the TT/SC out there you make think that there are a lot of TT/sc ' Z's tracking and racing with little or no issues (and that is not true ) its alot more black and white than alot of other platforms

roplusbee 01-27-2012 12:27 PM

True. If I ever let my NISMO go (and that will probably be never), I am looking to get my hands on a Ferarri F360 Challenge or 458 Italia (not a fan of the F430). I hope to be reassigned to Italy, so I'm looking to get either a R34 GT-T/GT-R or F360 Challenge (Twin SCs make that car a beast)
