1st to 2nd synchros. It grinds when shifting at high rpms.

But is this an issue just with your's or Z34 community?

Other people in here are having the same problem and got trannys replaced under warranty. Some others have the issue from 4th to 5th. There's a thread somewhere. I actually think Matt's got replaced once already.

You think with the Z-car going on 10yrs old and trans problems Nissan had with the early 03's they would've figured this out by now. Good luck! I know the feeling having a broken trans.

Yeah I am not sure what is causing the failure, without knowing much I would currently say this might be the "saving" point in the car where Nissan tried to lower cost. Sucks, but at least the dealerships are being helpful in replacing them. Also, my issue has always been 4 to 5. Have found if I shift from 4 to 5 but hold for half a second it does not grind ever but does get annoying to do that all the time.

Mine does this going into 2nd, 5th and 6th.

Ya idunno I ran mine all the way up and into 2nd and went fine . Car only has 6k on it tho so who knows

My '03 had a bit of a grind on 4-5 change but went away. And of course never happened with the tech in the car. But than after 30k+ of boosted miles 3rd said; "F you! I'm out!" LOL!!! Better than a rod.

wow if i ever do a tt install ill just pull the motor... looks like its well worth it compared to leaving that in the car and fighting everything :) Looks good Ron grats you're on the home stretch!

So Nissan sent the wrong transmission, that delayed things a couple of days. Car should be out mid next week. It's going to be a close call for Nismo Fiesta. Fingers crossed!
I will drop by the dealership in a couple of hours and check progress. If there is anything new I'll post more pics. |
