Passing NJ Inspection with an F/I Z???

I highly doubt it! You can go to those "other shops" and get your inspection sticker. They have mirrors to check for cat converters and a video camera to check under your car. Of course, lets not forget the Emission OBD II check. I was at the NJ inspection station 2 days ago for my dad's car, and now they lift the front of the car. They installed a machine that raises your front end by pushing on your oil pan area. I was like

. I hope they DON'T do that to the Z in 4 year because if there's any damage, I'm calling Mr. Corzine!

Not anymore my friend as of the beginning of this year the new inspection stickers have a chip inside them that has the vehicles info on it. You can go a turb just as long as you have your catalytic converter still and it is tuned right. When the time comes to get it inspected I would take it to the dyno shop and get the turbos turned down to like 5 pounds of boost each and retuned. After that I am pretty sure you will pass.

Good stuff thanks for the info. Yeah I was thinking of just doing duel maps and having a toggle switch to make things super easy. When i want to get it inspected all I have to do is flip the switch

lol..theres no chip inside the sticker...there is a bar code, thats all...

ur only option really would be a collector sticker, where you would only have to have the odometer working, its easy to do...

I feel sorry for you folks that have "emissions tests" as a requirement. Here in the great white (and unpolluted) north, we have nothing. No check for altered (or lack of) cats, no tail pipe sniffer tests.... absolutely nothing.
We do have "insurance inspections". But they are only required when the vehicle is over 10 years old. And that's only to get insurance, not for government requirements.
Ahhhh,... to be backward is bliss!!

And how exactly would I go about getting one of these "collector stickers"?

you need collector car insurance, follow there rules, go to the DMV and ask for a collector car registration and voucher and then when you have those items, you can come to the inspection part and get the sticker...insurance is real cheap for a collector car! so nice

So if it's so cheap and easy how come everyone doesn't do it?
