sweet sounds good man. they did say i was there first stillen car and they wanted to see what they could do with this kit since they hear so many bad things about it

now onto the tuning. the tuner is not at all happy with what he is seeing
not under load he is seeing that the maf's are both reading different voltages they are off by as much as .5v
and its driving the computer crazy on the fuel map side
he said there is a few things he can try but the placement of the mafs are not good
or it could be a leak at the bpv he is just getting started
also uprev is the software being used and its not letting him adj. each maf but doing more of an average of the 2

he told me that if he cant get the fuel mapping the way he wants then we need to look at other options he has been using uprev for over 4yrs

i told him cool if its not the way he wants then i will leave the car untuned pull the stillen kit and go with a turbo kit top of next year ( i dont drive my car much since i have a backup)

best thing is the tuner is looking at it as a challenge lol. so i guess thats kinda good maybe he can get it running right
any ways i think i told the guy like 20 times i just cant do another blown motor lol

I hope everything works out for you I have always heard good things about Hills Garage from the 350z forum. The location of the Maf's and the car not being able to read a true IAT is what lead me to dump the kit. You have a built motor like me now go turbo Boosted Performance did say special incentive for a built motor with his kit.

You also have GTM.

Pretty sure that was the culprit of my motor as well since it ran with different MAF readings for 4 months.

ANMVQ 10-05-2012 08:44 AM

Nice to see you got the car back, An is being tuned, I FINALLY pick mine up last night at the dealer and babbied it home. Tune is on for Tuesday, Look like we are racing again to the 500WHP mark, LOL , Good luck man, I have also heard very very good things about Hill's. You Did upgrade the MAF's correct,

Nissan370 10-05-2012 07:45 PM

so got a call from frank today and they got the car tuned he said i will need to upgrade the fuel system if i want to get more power out of her but as she sits i am looking at around 435rwhp/340rwtq and that is with out the meth injection i will post the dyno sheet once i pick the car up saturday

i was thinking i had 650cc injectors i only have the 600cc injectors
and the walbro 255 pump not sure how much fuel that is good for but frank said a relay and larger gauge wires could help the pump out some

he also said if i keep the kit he has a few ideas about moving the maf's around

so far i am happy about were the car is finally some good news

this clip was from thursday when they started the tune

That's great news, man! I'm glad they were able to get you situated. When you had the motor built, did you drop the compression down from the stock 11:1?

Nissan370 10-06-2012 03:50 PM

yea the compression was dropped from 11 to 9
ok got the dyno sheet in hand and the numbers are 436rwhp/340rwtq @ 9psi ( i think i said it was 360tq sorry about that)
i see 9psi now at redline before with the stock motor i was seeing 10.5-11psi but she makes more power now so (cleaner tune)
next were doing the fuel system getting the gtm return style fuel kit and 850cc injectors and a retune with the water/meth

so the red is from the je imports tune (they were saying i was at 485rwhp but i wanted a second opinon it was more like 415) lol back then i was like wtf!!!
that was stock motor and 9lb stillen pulley

blue is hills garage tune built motor with lower compression of course and same 9lb pulley

Mr.Squeeze 10-06-2012 04:03 PM

Och my neck hurts graph sideways j/k

Congrats on having a working car not bad numbers at all for a dyno dynamics dyno

Nissan370 10-06-2012 04:22 PM

hehe sorry man was tring to get that size down and thxs just glad to be back on the road
ok smaller picture ;)

Neo187H 10-06-2012 05:21 PM

Why are you goin with the return fuel setup? I thought there were people running in the 600WHP TT range with no issues from the returnless setup we are running?

Because he dropped the compression down to 9:1... in turn you drop the compression to allow for more boost which requires more fuel and bigger injectors, to make more power safely.

11:1 at 9 psi isn't going to make the same power as 9:1 at 9psi

That twin turbo you're talking about is running a built 10:1 compression with 650cc (I believe) injectors.

Staples 10-06-2012 09:00 PM

Nice numbers and that torque curve is so sexy! :tiphat:

ANMVQ 10-07-2012 07:10 AM

good numbers man. yea the 600cc's will run out. your gonna need upgraded MAF's also.I'm sitting with my car now waiting for the truck go show up to take her to my tuners. Go with 850cc's I went with those and the uprev. MAF's you should e able to get a little more ;)

ANMVQ 10-08-2012 07:59 AM

Another thing I did not see was an upgraded heat exchanger? The Stillen on is small.

A supercharged car will always use more fuel than a turbo car because it takes power to make power . You will always have to upgrade the fuel system at s lower hp level than with a turbo car .

On my built motor with GT30 turbos I started to run out of power a little bit over 500whp. Fuel system is not something to play with better to have more than just enough.

Nissan370 10-23-2012 05:16 PM

ok so i am going to wait on the return style fuel set-up
but i just ordered
deatschwerks 340lph in tank fuel pump and dw 800cc injectors from Gtm

still tring to recover from dropping $8k+ on the built motor lol
started a new job so the o.t is a little slow
so small steps

Nissan370 10-24-2012 11:44 PM

keep getting a check engine light so i pulled the codes 1. p0300 2. p0300 code
i looked it up and thats the code for a miss
also once the light comes on my idle changes from 850 to 1100

i can reset the computer then its fine for a few days then it returns
i dont have any lost of power and the car feels strong at all rpms

so i will drop the car off nov 2 to have the fuel stuff installed and that code checked out other then that she is running great

With the idle changing, it sounds like the motor is misfiring...but if you say the car runs normal, than maybe a vacuum leak?

Nissan370 10-28-2012 08:49 PM

ya the car goes back to hills garage on nov2 to check into that problem and also to install the injectors and fuel pump and retune for water/meth

Nissan370 11-12-2012 05:57 AM

car goes to hills garage nov 12 for upgraded

fuel pump 340lph
injectors 900cc
cog pulley set-up
uprev maf's
a fix on one of the pulley bearings
and a touch up tune

i am 70rwhp from my 500hp goal
since i am using water/meth on my kit i am not going to worry about the fmic
for now

i maybe able to save my self some money if i can get the maf moved behind the blower will keep you posted

tower74 11-12-2012 01:12 PM

I had the same issue. Found it was 2 things. The tune and the spark plugs were not the correct ones. My car did the blip thing as well and threw the same codes. Also check the ignition coils, the code should tell you what bank and location

Nissan370 12-26-2012 07:32 AM

so small update the cog pullies are in with a small brace to keep the belt from walking when the motor moves i will get pictures
340lph fuel pump is in and the 900cc injectors but the car is braking up some so we have to find out why
i hope its not the injectors maybe just a vacuum leak or one of the coilon pack wires

frank fixed the bearings on the jackshaft pulley. he just ordered the bears and removed the old ones and installed the new ones
i called stillen and they told me it would be 600 buck because that was a sealed pulley and it cant be removed i would need a new bracket :rofl2:

dam scammers any thing for a buck i just laughed at the guy and said o really

so hope to get the car back next week i will post the new numbers

old number 436rwhp@9psi

this new dyno will be with cog pullies (34/30) and water-meth

new number ?

ps. i am trying like hell not to pull this kit off and go turbo i just dont need to do that right now but i cant stop going to s&r or boostedperformance or gtm websites lol

elperuano 01-02-2013 05:00 PM

Bout time u stepped up to the big leagues! Can't wait to see ur final results on that built motor. Make sure to let them know ur built motor!

Nissan370 01-02-2013 05:20 PM

just so you know elperuano i blame you lol!!

i told them i was on a forged motor i am happy and broke all at the same time:icon17:

PEPI 01-02-2013 05:43 PM

Hello,

Awesome write up.
Hopefully this hasn't been mentioned before, but with that type of power at your wheels - could I suggest that maybe attention is turned to your clutch and CMS?

I had a catastrophic CMS failure that literally 'exploded' putting fluid all over the clutch/flywheel/pressure plate............completely ruined.

Had it all replaced but also with a strengthened CMS. Perhaps you can get an aftermarket kit etc and keep the stock as a spare.

Just saying. :)

Regards

Are you sure you don't mean CSC? Isn't the master on the firewall?

Lol! The first full boost run will make u forget absolutely everything. Assuming u have the supporting mods (which I think u do) meth, upgraded fuel, n clutch you're looking at an easy +200hp gain and +200 torque! How awesome is that gonna feel?? You're gonna have to try to describe it to me until I can build my motor.

still riding my stock clutch will need to upgrade that at some point

Yessssssss about time man your going to love having a built motor and turbo welcome to the club man .

Nissan370 01-05-2013 03:00 PM

ok so no idea how you guys got the cog pullies to work with out the belt walking all over the place
we even tried using a brace on the blower to help it from moving around
still not working so i am putting the old pullies back on until the turbo kits get here

Do you have the smooth idler pulley with the groves that keeps the belt from going all over the place ? The belt will move some but the pulley I'm talking about only allows it to move within the groves.

Since your going turbo it really doesn't matter just curious that's all

Nissan370 01-09-2013 05:48 AM

this is my last post here i gave up on trying to hit the 500 rwhp mark
i cant say this is not a good kit if your happy with just being boosted and making over 500 at the motor

but its a one shooter add kit + custom tune = be happy and dont mod

final numbers with 9lb pulley is 436rwhp = 520hp@ the motor not bad

later

ps : i will be selling my kit : stillen kit /600cc injectors/walbro 255 fuel pump
get a custom tune and go
my kit has way less the 3k miles on it

Nixlimited 01-09-2013 09:15 AM

All that work and you are going to sell it? Are you going a different FI route?

Nissan370 01-09-2013 11:24 AM

yes s&r single turbo
