I could be wrong but I always thought that ribs referred to the raised ribs on the pulley and not the number of ribs on the belt.

I have a 928 2.87 pulley as well as a vortech 3.12, 3.33. This is all left over parts from my 350 vortech kit.It won't fit when I first got the Stillen kit I tried using it. The only pulleys I was able to use were the cog pulleys. The Stillen pulleys are wider this has to do with the belt being wider on the 370 from the 350.

Are the pulleys you are referring to run from the main drive belt or the belt that runs around the jackshaft pulley and the SC pulley? I am assuming that you are talking about the pulley that is run off of the main belt. I still need to do a little research before pulling the trigger on a pulley.

I am interested in your cog pulley setup but am not sure if I want to go that route at this point. Had I known about it before my install I might have gone that route but I am not sure if I want to go through the hassle of removing all the stuff necessary to install the cog setup instead of swapping out the front side pulley which is a very simple operation. BTW, what was the total cost of the cog setup if you don't mind me asking?

Yes I am talking about the main belt on the front. I will take a picture of the 928 6 rib 2.87 and the Stillen 9 pound pulley tomorrow ,and post it to show the difference. My cog set up cost me about $250 for the pulleys and cog belt. I have know problem sharing the information If you decide to switch to a cog set up you will need to get the 928 impeller if you was going to go with the same pulley's I have. With the 8 pound/3.12 Stillen pulley you will make more boost with a cog set than the 9 pound Stillen pulley I haven't tried this combo yet.

Thanks for the info Squeeze. I may hit you up for more depending on which way I go.

Nissan370 07-15-2011 05:23 PM

with the v-2 on my mustang the kit came with 3.60 pulley 6rib for 8psi

i was getting a lot of slippage as i went from 3.6-3.33 then 2.95 so i opted. for an 8-rib pulley kit and the 2.87 (2.87=14psi @ 6100 rpms and 16.5-17 psi @ 7200 rpms)

with that 2.87 pulley i was at 8psi @ 4400 rpms
http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...aver/me025.jpg

mustang mag did a project were some guy put a waste gate on his vortech

he got the ysi blower dropped the pulley size down so that the blower would make max boost up top like 20 or 22 psi or so added the waste gate to bleed the boost off at like 15psi or so

the dyno chart looked like a turbos dyno chart he was hitting hit 15 or so psi mark very early in the rpms

here it is Vortech Centrifugal Supercharger Wastegate Install - Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords Magazine

RCZ 07-16-2011 04:13 PM

^ I was planning to do that for a LONG time, but there are big hurdles to get over to do it..

Nissan370 07-27-2011 05:31 PM

ok so i paid for every thing .

stillen supercharger (6000.00)
custom high flow cats (550.00)
ark cat-back exhuast (0)

supercharger install,exhaust,cat install,custom tune,odds and ends (2100.00)

---------------------------

total $9100.00 :eek::eek:

i drop the car off to je imports aug 22

i should have the rims powder coated black by then :stirthepot:

so i have to work some overtime to put that 9 grand back into my bank account ouch

b1adesofcha0s 07-27-2011 07:58 PM

Nice! How did you manage to get an Ark exhaust for free?

Nissan370 07-27-2011 08:19 PM

not for free i got the exhaust like 3weeks ago just never installed it ....

so i told je imports to install it along with the kit

the exhaust was 1450.00 shipped

Definitely would need to have the WG pre-MAF otherwise the metering would be all messed up. This means blow-through, unlike the Stillen kit. Interesting idea though. My only concern is that you end up running the compressor way beyond its efficiency range in the upper RPM band, which means you will be creating a lot more heat in the pre-IC charge. It may balance out to more power over the range, but I bet there are a lot of losses in efficiency up top.

Nissan370 08-04-2011 07:21 PM

true but there are a lot of ways to cool that charged air down water-meth injection maybe running a nitrous spray bar for the intercooler....

anyways i have heard horror stories about the stillen and there tune thats why i am going with custom

imo blow-throught maf are easier to tune then suck-throught

i have the suck-through maf on my mustang it maxed out very fast and i had to get a larger ( one with more range)

my mustang has the v2 vortech and i know that 8psi is no were near the blowers effective range

at 14+ psi the v2 really starts to feel strong

on the z i will be getting the motor built next year and yea i should be going turbo but we will see..

i just think from my exp. with vortech that kit should see 500whp or very close to it

i can always up grade to a t or ysi trim vortech(built motor of course) i think they fitt same bracket (sci to t is just an impeller swap)

Nissan370 08-09-2011 02:53 PM

small road block :shakes head:

i work for verizon and we are on strike.. so i may have to do the adult thing and postpone this install and get my money back ..

going to give this a few more days

Nissan370 08-17-2011 07:46 PM

dropped the car off @ je imports :ughdance:

timing sucks but i am going on with the install

Nissan370 08-25-2011 03:31 PM

so got the car back hear are a few pictures

little clip of the dyno
http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...h_MVI_6682.jpg

weather kinda sucks today but the ride from the shop no problems more pictures and videos to come this v3 vortech is very quiet compared to the v2 on my mustang

b1adesofcha0s 08-25-2011 03:37 PM

Nice

wind.zero 08-25-2011 04:23 PM

Looks good

Nissan370 08-25-2011 05:42 PM

going to enjoy the car for a time then its back for

clutch and flywheel
stillen headers
boost gauge
and a retune

not sure if anyone makes a 10% overdrive crank pulley but that would be nice

--------- still hunting for 500rwhp mark------

but so far its a good start
going to put the car throught its paces hit the track see what she can do..

roplusbee 08-26-2011 06:57 AM

Awesome

Nissan370 08-26-2011 12:38 PM

ok so my impressions of the stillen kit

the tune that je imports did is spot on the car feels great and pulls like crazy up top

the v3 is very quiet for a vortech unit in and out side the car

dropped by autozone to get a few things and people asking questions and loving the sound of the car. ;)

a few things i noticed on a few runs giving it alittle gas my oil temp is between 240 and 250.. it drops once i cruise for a few mins,, way to high for me going to get a oil cooler

the other thing i notice is that intake is hot as hell and it made me think that if i ever upped the boost that the air-water intake will be maxed out

i got redlines wet coolant and added it to the coolant

on my mustang i am using a fmic and the intake is never that hot and its pushing 14psi

b1adesofcha0s 08-26-2011 12:44 PM

I think oil cooler is definitely a must with any FI kit.

One_Quick_Z 08-26-2011 01:50 PM

Hows the sound of the ARK with the HFC? I know that when I did my first setup I went with that Exhaust and berk testpipes and it sounded like A$$.....

Love my current setup though :) HKS+FI Long Tube Headers= Pure Sex

DAN

Nissan370 08-26-2011 06:49 PM

the exhaust sounds ok maybe a little louder then i prefer i am hoping that it will quiet down once i get some miles on it

i am using random tech hfcs

there is some drone between 3500-3750 other then that the car sounds good under wot

i will most likely pull them off and get the longtubes once i do the clutch

theDreamer 09-07-2011 12:00 PM

Nissan370, what were the final numbers (HP & TQ) and PSI you are writing?
Build looks great, and hope you get to 500 soon.

Nissan370 09-09-2011 07:18 AM

450rwhp/321rwtq @ 8psi

DAN

Dan,

I'd love to hear your exhaust setup!

NewYorkJon34 09-21-2011 12:20 AM

how did you get 450whp with 8psi? is this on a dynojet?

Nissan370 09-23-2011 11:52 AM

Yes dynojet personally I prefer mustang dyno numbers but it's your trap speed that gives you a better idea about how fast your car is

I used a mustang dyno for my 2000 mustang gt it dyno Ed 543rwhp but on a dynojet it dyno Ed 585 rwhp but it traps 125-126mph in the quarter mile

When my mustang was only making 430rwhp it was trapping 116-117 in the 1/4 mile

Got to get to the track with the thing

NewYorkJon34 09-23-2011 01:59 PM

What clutch set-up did you go with?

Nissan370 09-23-2011 05:31 PM

Still on the stock clutch man

9k z project vs line of credit

Line of credit :owned:

I want the og clutch it's 2k

I will do the clutch and header at the same time in a few months

NewYorkJon34 09-23-2011 07:54 PM

Is the OG clutch good?, I know it will still need the upgraded csc, but even with that the stock master cylinder will eventually fail :(

Nissan370 12-09-2011 10:46 AM

Will be dropping the car off on the 19th. To Je imports
To do a smaller pulley 9-10 psi and to put on a set of resonators
And of course a retune .....

This should help clean up the exhaust sound alittle and
Pick up a few more pony's

I will add dyno sheet and exhaust clip when done:tup:

Nissan370 12-21-2011 06:49 AM

ok got the car back from je imports she is running great i am now see about 10psi on the top-end with the (9psi pulley)

my numbers jumped from 450/330 to 480/350 @ 7500rpms
best thing is my over all gains through the power band not so much the top-end

i will post the dyno later

Nice numbers.

much better torque do to tuning to get more torque out of the set-up

Dyno pack not dynojet sry for the mix-up the power is at the wheel or hub

Nissan370 02-09-2012 05:50 PM

on still a work in progress
just got my snow kit
http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...r/IMG_1572.jpg

http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...r/IMG_1837.jpg

looking into getting a pulley size smaller on the vortech

i have to measure it but cant remember what size the 9lb pulley is anyways i will be dropping down one more size from that

once i get the pulley its back to je imports for the water-meth and pulley install and new tune
i was going to go with the cog pulley but i thing this 8-rib should hold up fine

now with the 9lb pulley i was seeing 9-10 doing warm weather and 10-11 doing the cold weather
i am hoping for a solid 11psi with a more but no overly aggressive tune

NYBladeZ 02-09-2012 05:56 PM

still need more torque :(

Nissan370 02-09-2012 06:04 PM

hehe ya i know rigth !!

i got to work with what i have

just going to have to race from a roll
