^Yes, I might need to know this too @_@

I've been away from my car wayyy too long. Haven't even drove it since I bought it!

Sammmm! I'll fly back from Hawaii just to pickup the car when it's ready ^_^

KaienZ34 05-21-2011 01:02 AM

Just put super glue on the tires and you'll be fine. :icon17:

Shoot me an email with a price and I will try to convince the wife. How long will that add to the build?

True, trust me thinking about it can make u sick but sometimes you gotta get out your f*cking checkbook

RCZ 05-21-2011 06:16 PM

Sam, is 11psi and 500+whp safe on the stock block?

KaienZ34 05-21-2011 07:03 PM

We shall see.:stirthepot:

Correct me if I'm wrong should be around 550 before you need major work done to the bottom end

NewYorkJon34 05-21-2011 08:43 PM

It is 550, i know its on a dynojet but still 525 is pretty close to the limit. I'm almost thinking of putting in new pistons/rods and running at a lower compression if needed.

Now that we have stage 2 dyno numbers, answer my question from my old post.

Can a stage 2 370 hang with a c6zo6

Do you track?

NewYorkJon34 05-22-2011 10:19 AM

A Z06 may get you on the top end, but if done right it will get f*cked. I'm not buying this kit for street racing, but for more of just enjoying/feeling the power of over 500whp

Flyboy 05-22-2011 11:16 AM

I have a 1/8th mile track n my town. But, I like to compare speed to cost.

Ok, but are you going to actually take it to the track?

on 1/4 race yes, thats if the Z06 is completely stock, its another story when they change their stock tires change to track tires:driving:

on track, yes, again if the z06 was stock..

Jamaica, I'm not trying to be rude here, but can you please stop speaking for other people...

Reason for asking HIM is that he obviously has a LOT of experience with these engines and wouldn't be taking a "correct me if I'm wrong" guess. The idea is to not have any work done to the bottom end at all, not "major", not "minor" (whatever that is).

I don't know if the idea behind showing a 11psi pull is to show what his SC is capable of doing that or what. So that's the reason behind my question. As of right now I know few people who think 10+ psi on this engine is safe..in fact I've seen / heard of a 3 or 4 370z motors grenading in the past month, some FI and some not. I share the opinion that we're going to start seeing more than a few FI motors pop over the next 6 months and because of that, I am trying to be as careful as I can with my motor.

How many of you guys that are going with the GTM Stage 2 kit are planning on running 11 psi?

dixon cider 05-22-2011 12:08 PM

No way I'm running 11 psi.

RCZ 05-22-2011 12:12 PM

Thanks dixon, what are your plans then? Also, if you get a chance, vote on the other thread I just made in the FI section.

8psi. Maybe 10. I say 10 because I'm not tracking the car and am older (mature enough) to know that I can't run it balls out all of the time. Just because I can doesn't mean I will, if you know what I mean.

Jamaica 05-22-2011 01:22 PM

Who said I was speaking for other people ? Can't read? I said correct me if I'm wrong should be around 550. I'm not speaking for Sam. Did I say Sam said this ? Uhmm no. So stop saying I'm speaking for other people. Wayne and I and Sam had a good two hour talk about the stage two and etc.

Z eliminator 05-22-2011 05:40 PM

8 to 10 lbs is good for me 425 to 450 is more than enough.

RCZ 05-22-2011 05:51 PM

So essentially we agree 11psi is not safe? Thats what I was thinking too. I was excited when someone told me GTM hit 520whp because I thought they figured out the VVEL and came out with something for us, but then I saw 11psi and well duh..

Still impressive numbers nonetheless, specially considering SC loss...that car probably makes closer to 560whp...

roplusbee 05-23-2011 02:01 PM

All this stuff is making my F/I desicion difficult. Hopefully, I can get Sam and Mike (Zerolift) to get together to meet my needs...............now for the pocket damage :ugh2:

Turbo, you will have no regrets.... THE END . . . .

RCZ 05-23-2011 03:44 PM

If you have the cash and the car won't be seeing a race track, TT for sure.

Why would TT be bad for a race track? What would be better?

I've heard TT cars get very hot and therefore not ideal for tracking.

roplusbee 05-23-2011 04:22 PM

I can't really say whether the car will see the track or not, but I am thinking TT is the way I am leaning at this time. I will be sending the car to Zerolift while I am out of the country, so I will have some time until I see it again /sadface.............

I don't agree with your statement , it is not that cut and dry. I'm preparing a long winded answer, although i don't think you are going to like it.

Sam

RCZ 05-23-2011 04:42 PM

Cool, it doesnt matter who it makes happy as long as its not a marketing speech. Any info you can provide is helpful in one way or another. I don't think 550hp is safe on the stock bottom end simply because of what I've "heard" and a few sparse samples that I actually know of. One thing that is nice is that you take time to even look at this thread with all the stuff you got on your plate. I'm sure a lot of people, including me, appreciate the info.

Mr.Squeeze 05-23-2011 06:25 PM

One thing that people are over looking is the last dyno that was posted the car had stock headers/Cats. With the exhaust system still stock you will see a higher PSI.Also its a centrifugal supercharger boost increases with RPM I am not sure where the stage 2 hits its peak boost, maybe SAM can post up a boost log of the last dyno.
