Good job, even with the little problems.

And I couldn't help but laugh at that Civic... lol

Dembflyr 06-15-2011 01:57 PM

Over boost problem is fixed. Didn't need the new springs. Just had to open the top port on the wastegates.

It holds a steady 8psi right now. I know I was going for 10 but I think I'll stay right where I am. I didn't notice any clutch slippage with the lower boost so I think I'll keep it there until I get a boost controller and I'm ready to upgrade the clutch.

I told you all, in the beginning, that I knew enough to get myself in trouble. :icon14:

I will be running the open dumps for a little longer. I talked to Sam and even though he feels that my problems aligning the pipes aren't being caused by any problem with his product, he is sending me a new set to try.

Throughout this process Sam has displayed top notch customer service.

Thanks for putting up with me Sam! :tiphat:

Econ 06-16-2011 09:26 AM

lookin good. keep us posted

Footloose301 08-09-2011 06:27 PM

Jealous. Wish I had the balls to install it myself. However, I may have the stupidity to try it.

theDreamer 09-07-2011 12:02 PM

Dembflyr, did you ever get on a dyno?
Updating the finished builds and need your HP & TQ and final PSI numbers, thanks.

Brazilbro 09-07-2011 08:49 PM

Hey when you go to dyno hit me up. I need to dyno mine again. I found I've had a boost leak for the past year and thats why I was only getting 5psi and slow spool. Fixed now and hitting 9-10psi.. I'm looking to lay down 500

I wonder what the average boosted Z is boosting on a daily basis. 7-9 psi maybe.

I have not been able to get to a dyno yet. I will post on the finished build thread when I do. I hope to do it before winter.

I will. I owe you a drive. :D Maybe sometime this month. It would have to be during the week.

That's down the road...if ever. I plan to enjoy the stock motor for awhile because with whatever power I'm making now (I'm guessing 530whp), it eats the tires up in the first 3 gears.

Never! I've had enough problems already:icon17:

damn, nice numbers! So how does the stage2 @ this psi compare? I'm contemplating stg1 vs stg2!

I really don't know. There are a lot of variables. I went with stage I because I didn't see myself building the motor in the future. That may not be the case. I have been looking at possibly doing a stroker motor in a few years. Not a big deal as you can swap the housing on the turbo at a later time. Bottom line is that if you ever see yourself building the motor, just go stage II from the begining.

And now for a few dyno vids:

I have no idea why when I try to embed the first video it goes sideways. It plays fine in you tube.

theDreamer 10-23-2011 12:06 PM

Yep, from what I have seen is the stage 1 & 2 TT kits really make the same power at similar PSI but the stage 2 gives you more room for growth.

birdmanx1 10-23-2011 12:10 PM

Congrats on great numbers. That's a lot of people around for the pulls!

A local enthusiast forum held a dyno event. This was pretty early in the evening. I went second. later on there was a Supra that put down almost 1100 whp.

birdmanx1 10-23-2011 01:45 PM

WOW, that's awesome, that supra had to be a beast. I used to live in Bloomington and never knew there was much of a Japanese car following in the Indy area, def good to know.

jnaut 10-23-2011 04:55 PM

Monterey Blue is the fastest color!!

Deadman 10-23-2011 06:18 PM

I think i need to place an order soon with GTM :( 8psi is good for me so its that power! Getting cold up here in the great lakes area so you best get to the track and get some times!

Dembflyr 01-31-2012 11:22 AM

I should have my Fast Intentions 3" in a few weeks but since today was so nice and I already sold the Berk, I figured I would take a open exhaust spin around the block. :D Enjoy!

Peppers 01-31-2012 11:35 AM

Yes please! That sounds fantastic!

98intrigue 01-31-2012 09:32 PM

That must be insanely loud! I ran an open downpipe for a few days...it was obnoxious!

GaleForce 01-31-2012 09:54 PM

Damn that thing sounds angry!

So, tell me, how well do you get along with your neighbours? lol

Ha ha. I only drove it for a few minutes. I'm sure they wouldn't like me much if I drove it to work at 4am. It's still technically away for the winter. The next time it sees the public roads it'll have a brand new Fast Intentions 3" TDX.

I wish you would have actually accelerated in that video, sounded great but pretty boring

I did say that it was a "spin" around the block not a blast. Sorry it bored you. I have my reasons for driving the way I did. In spring I may take a more aggressive video before installing the exhaust.

Shimmy 02-03-2012 02:43 AM

so what psi are you running and how long has it been reliable?
