Default BOV's not working need help now

BOV's are not opening:

losing power due to BOV's not engaging but going back through the turbos/ causeing turbo to spin the wrong way (loud vibration) and air flutter out the intake...not good. the entire time i was going down the strip, the turbos were just spining back and forth, never spooling up. this would make sence because of the strengthn in 1st and the brick wall in the others. when you let off the throttle, the BOV's release the excess pressure(air) in the pipe going to the throttle body and releases it...not happening and is y i was so f'n slow.

passenger side releases late and air flutters through intake first/driver side is nothing but a blank dud.

Im getting vaccum on the BOV's so im pretty lost on wtf is going on.

I am getting strong vaccum so that isnt it either...

Reason behind me posting asking for help is because its the weenend so GTM is going to be closed

didnt notice this before because i never had anyone look at it and like i said it still releases just late on the passenger side so it fooled me until i had a friend chk it out while i reved to 3-3,500.

Sam never made it in i guess, im going off the fact that i never got a phone call back from him.

I fixed it! they sent me too strong of a BOV spring. me and a few others tried to get the BOV to open up by pushing on it and we all struggled and couldnt get it to open even half way. I had my PMA and production officer (i work with pumps, valves etc... on submarines) and they said it seemed to be for a 40-50psi setup. I think maybe there was a bit of exageration but i think their not too far off.

i double and triple checked my vaccum lines coming on the intake manifold that connect to the BOV's and they are very strong. A buddy of mine let me try his 6 psi BOV on the car and it opened up great! the the issue was easily not the install. i went to a couple places to see about a spring but only offered me the BOV's which is not what i wanted to do.

looking at my options i decided that cutting the spring is my best solution. we cut the spring 1ish coil at a time and after a 1/4 of the spring being cut, the valve finally opened. the spring is still harder then my friends but soft enough that it actually works.

the car now runs great and fish tail alot in 3rd which was pretty wild to me.

so problem fix now moving on...

Glad you figured it out! I would not be surprised if this was the cause of the flutter that used to be an issue with GTM FI kits as well.

Even though cutting the spring is a solution I wouldn't ride that train long. I'd have GTM send another spring. I know on my old setup my BOV was marked a certain color to varify it's rate. I also knew that after I put some miles on BOV the spring would open easier for it seemed to get broken in. Same for my wastegate. It seem to open smoother. It was easy to tell with open dumps.

i was also thinking that maybe the spring would break in but i also think it was just too hard.

im also glad its done now and its pretty nice to have a TT 370z, its pretty wicked. I wouldnt steer anyone away from do F.I. on this car, bolt ons just dont cut it no more.

this weekend is a big even, magazines from other countries, including japan, are coming out. its all weekend and the drags are on friday. If they let me sign up ill be sure to get video. Im going to look into MT radials and maybe 100oct + tune for that from sam. Ill post up under the F.I. section and the video section if they let me attend.

Destiny what did you have to do to get this resolved?

I see that the issue with GTM dates far back than I thought.

It dates back a LOT farther than this. I and several friends had trouble with them all the way back in 2009...and we weren't the first. They pretty much don't have a shard of reputation left on the 350z forum

Guys all these issues were a long time ago back when everyone thought GTM was GOD... Now all these issues are becoming more and more transparent with other customers. Joe, ended up selling his car when he got to the mainland. He had a lot of issues with the lot from extremely long delay to deliver the lot, to bad used parts shippped, and finally a really bad rich tune. So bad that it fouled the spark plugs within month of use. It was so black look like an old diesal fire truck plug that hadn't been changed in years. Since I think joe doesn't come to the forum anymore. I'll just leave this here to remind you what happened and how he got flamed for speaking up. This is joe's now wife then.
