GTM should buy custom tape with GTM plastered all over it to tape the boxes. So if it was truly opened in customs they would know.

There are a lot of HATERS in the world (i.e. Car getting keyed)... i'm just saying it's a possibility that someone out there didn't want the owner to enjoy it.

mmmMMmm....

Tape, custom stamping, etc...

Does ANYONE believe this was damaged in shipping/customs?? I mean come on. I've seen better quality piping in a pile of scrap metal.

Real interested to find out what happen here. Did you buy the kit right from GTM or someone else??? What did the turbos look like??? Good luck man, hope everything works out for you.

This is inexcusable. I feel bad for the person shipped this crap.

May I suggest that buyer retain legal help, that might speed up the process a bit.

I know a guy who works at Kennedy Airport in customs. He's 6'1", about 260 lbs. Guess why? He's in charge of going through boxes from europe and asia and keeps a lot of the anabolic steroids he confiscates for himself. He's always got tons of weed (people think shipping seeds is legal and safe, hahahaha), cuban cigars etc. If it were me and I was a real HATER, i'd snag the kit and keep it for myself or sell it. I can't phathom any f'ed up set of circumstances where customs officials would discretely take a sledge to a turbo kit going to someone they don't know. Unless this dude banged their wife or something, idk....

But i think we're reaching for the stars here. What's more likely, that some mysterious customs officials who get off on hammering metal destroyed his kit and dumped metal shavings in it, or that by some strange reason even in turbulent shipping there were holes, dents, scratches, etc to the piping? Or, is it more likely that someone shipped him a used kit because he's in Guam and is perceived to have little or no recourse?

I mean, the tape would only be used so that they know who to point the fingers at.

As for Joe's kit, it obviously looks like it was sent out used and beat up.

One of the thing I noticed in the video was piping in a step down in diameter. Non of gtm products have that in their designs!!! Hence why I asked did they really buy it from gtm. Again we are taking te customer at his word as we should. At this point I believe the facts and real evidence should be posted not conjecture or he said she said. If there is Goin to be any resolution to the subject matter it should be handled through pm and other communications with the updates and results posted here.

This is a serious accusation and needs to be taken seriously. Being one of the few people who have seen gtm's operations first hand and talked to every employee in the company I find this accusation a little unbelievable in my personal opinion but that is just that my personal third party take on this with the Little evidence supplied. I am in no way saying this is the case but anyone can make a video and take pictures to get a refund even after receiving a perfectly good kit. Again I am not saying this is what happened but I have seen people do it before. Honestly, it could go either way...

i work with logistics folks... and yes **** happens with shippers and customs all the time (and worst in fact)... who arranged for shipping anyways? name of shippers? picture of boxes?

btw... i thought GTM is sending him replacement parts? what's with all the hate?

Really would like to hear GTM's side of the story before making any judgment. Parts serial-stamping was mentioned as means to protect both parties.

There are step down pipes in the kit. Straight out of GTM's packing list:

My kit didn't have that maybe cause I bought a different kit.

Juruki 03-09-2011 11:41 AM

And i thought someday i would buy the GTM TT kit...
why do these stories keep popping up? I thought maybe some ppl wanted to ruin GTMs reputation. Now Simota (a good member of this forum) vouches for him so i think i believe him...

Why are you implying STORIES as in multiple stories.... This is the first i have ever heard of this issue. and there are countless members who have purchased stuff from GTM and everyones was packaged exactly the same. This is one kit that doesnt fit the mold... Like I said something is not right and GTM doesnt sale or ship F'd up kits or parts! Anyone with personal experience with GTM or their product line knows that as a fact...

spearfish25 03-09-2011 12:33 PM

I don't see the concern about buying from GTM. One, there are uncountable 'success' and 'happy' stories. Two, you're likely going to pay with a credit card. I don't know what company you use for your CCs, but Chase and Amex will take your side 100%. If I got a kit that looked like that and didn't receive PROMPT attention in rectifying the situation by the seller, I'd have that charge disputed and reimbursed in a blink of an eye. It's an open and shut case with the credit card company.
