Have you thought about doing a recirculating valve to put the unused air back into the intake path and help the turbo spool up?

but filter location is a little curious to me too.

Subscribed for awesomeness. I will probably be going with a home made kit along these lines aswell!

it would be a good idea also as having it as a atmosphere vent will cause a momentary rich condition. plus i dont really like the sound. we will see... thanks for the input steve :)

how do they keep the filter from getting so much road dirt when under the car? Can it be placed in the engine?

Good job. The piping on the turbo setup should be interesting since its a dual compared the 350z throttle body.

The rear mount turbo, loved by some, despised by others. How can such a simple device as a turbo and it's where it's located stir as much hatred as it does. Perhaps the hatred is due to latent homosexuality since rear mount turbo users "like their turbo in the butt". Who knows.
Interesting read. OP sounds like you should get the whole exhaust before the turbo coated with something like THIS (I was going to link HPC Coatings but it looks like there was a merger with Jet Hot). On my Supra I had the manifold, turbine housing and down pipe done in what looks like what they are calling Jet Hot 2000 now.

so if intake filters have to go under car then IMO this is not a good solution for DD cars. Can the filter be put in the engine bay still?
