isnt there more people then this?

I have a question for the finished F/I build guys. How soon are your cars in boost and when are the turbos at full boost? As far as I am concerned, response is king and full boost early is where the money is made. Let's here the stories...............

That is Brazilbro's build thread, looks like they cut out the fangs and made a huge opening in the front for his setup. |

Because I have a 7AT we wanted to make sure everything was as cool as possible so thats the reason for cutting away so much of the front fascia. Pictures and dyno results are in the "my album" area. |
Damn I thought this post was on MyG37 lol. I need to find a similar solution for my G sedan.
Thanks anyway! |

I currently have a Journey bumper which has a tiny opening in the bottom center. I'll just go with a sport version bumper I guess.

Followup with R8 tune for A7 car
Well early on in this thread I posted my opinion on the R6 tune. I have had the R8 tune for sometime now but just have not had enough seat time until recently to give any feedback.
Well here goes; The first thing I noticed was that the tip-in knock that I was experiencing was gone. The power is down a bit below 3K rpm and I presume it's because they removed timing down low to eliminate the tip-in knock. There does seem to be more power in the mid to upper rpm range though like I said some of the initial down low the power is down from the R6 to the R8 tune. Shifting is firmer particularly at moderate to full throttle compared to the R6 tune. I have noticed that the R8 tune is a bit more sensitive to throttle input and will sometimes shift too early with a slight let up of the throttle and then when you get back into the throttle there is a hesitation before gearing down and going. Now that I'm familiar with it I can somewhat control it. As for the hot start that I was experiencing with the R6 it is still there with the R8 tune but is now happening more often. With the R6 tune it was once in a while, with the R8 tune it is more common whenever I am driving for an extended period of time and the engine is good and heat soaked, even on a day where the temps are in the 40's. It's like the motor is getting too much fuel on start up and it requires throttle to start or else it will just turn over and not start. Obviously to rich on start-up requiring throttle opening to get more air when ever the motor is good and hot. So that's it in a nut shell, some improvements but not quite there yet. My preference would be to have the added power from the R8 tune with the drivability and smoothness of the R6 tune. Plus fix the hot start issue and I'll be 100% satisfied. |
I'm running the R8 also. I still have some tip in knock only after I drive the car for an extended period of time. Especially after I shut off the car and let it sit for 10 min or so the knock is much more noticeable. I thought I was the only who's feeling the hesitation lol. I have that problem too and lately my idle has becoming unstable at times and stalled on me twice coming to a stop sign. It's weird cuz the idle drops below 500rpm after I come to a complete stop and that's when it stalled. The tunes has improved but problems is still there. My morning drives is perfect when the car isn't so hot but after it's completely warmed up and oil temps at 205f the tip in starts occurring. They also need to work on the power also.
|
One more thing to add is I'm getting really crappy fuel mileage. I only made 180ish on my last tank of gas. Also that morning choking exhaust fumes is killing me. It's really bad!

Has anyone logged coolant temps to see what they are with FI? I'm assuming TT will have slightly higher temps compared to SC.

I have provided my input to Stillen and hope that they can use the info to refine the tune. It is getting there but needs tweaking. |

I know I'm not the only one to experience detonation, hesitation, heat soaked.(my pump works),idling and sometimes stall. I've be patience enough already so pls don't tell me to be patience. my kit was installed on the end of June and been having problems for the past 6 months. been down to Stillen's facility not once but twice and still can't fix it. I'm not about to take my car for another useless road trip. I'm on the edge about these issues and will have it removed soon. if it sell, then good hard lesson learned. if not It's going straight to the dumpster. |

My Stillen-supercharged beast
Just completed installation of Stillen's SC kit on my 2009 370Z sport/touring (auto trans). I have neither dyno results nor dragstrip times to substantiate the claim that the car now accelerates like someone put another vq37 in the trunk--but that's how it feels to me :). Stillen's kit is first-rate and extraordinarily complete--except for the comments in my post entitled "Stillen supercharger installation":MY350Z.COM Forums/
Sorry. I guess you can't attach pics to replies, and I wasn't sure starting a new thread was advisable. |

My journey with GTM SC stage 1 Install so far
Hi Guys,
I paid for a GTM stage 1 SC kit for a 370Z on the 21st of January 2011 - from Sam. After too many calls, mails and threats to cancel the order, I finally recieved the kit on the 29th of March 2011. I was promised a three week lead time in January. I must say that the kit is very well packaged and has a detail packaging list. In spite of following the steps in the manual - starting on the 30th of March with the ECU details, my kit still sits in the shed as I have no ROM files to load into the ECU. I have called several times, emailed etc. - no luck. Every time it is the same story - I will receive it within a couple of hours etc. Can the guys who have completed their installs please advise me. Should I send the kit back to GTM, or do you think I will eventually have everything I need to actually do the install? I am based in South Africa - are the rest of you getting the same level of service from Sam? |
Since I see other G37 builds in here, I'll post mine:

Thanks for the build Modme, looks great. There seems to be no solid database yet for either so hoping a Z/G database here will help centralize things.
