only building 4 psi. the headers are not allowing enough back pressure and is basically not allow the boost to stay in the cyclinder. stock headers and cats going back on the car.

JB-370z 06-11-2010 02:04 PM

I knew it was going to lose boost, just did not know how much. Ouch. So whats the plan now?
Edit: Sorry to hear this just got to your above post

I know with the new 5.0's we are allowed to play with each cam individually and its already been unlocked. so we can have the lopiness sound of overlap while readjusting the cams with throttle tip in to optimize. Pretty cool stuff. We are working on putting very aggressive race cams in and then using the "ti vct" to adjust them to be mild for daily driving.

How much rear wheel HP were you putting down with just 4PSI?

shumby 06-11-2010 02:34 PM

To tell the truth i was too upset about the boost numbers to ask. I was too worried abotu calling the wife and telling her the bad new.

Just want to make this clear. this is not GTM's issue i rolled the dice adn it came up snake eyes. Now you all get to learn from me.

But lower PSI is more efficient with better flow, you should be checking the HP & torque numbers to see how they came out. The car may not want to go beyond 4PSI which sucks, but you could be putting down good numbers at 4PSI; we just have to wait to run higher PSI for more power.

Did you at least get a dyno graph? having only 4 psi doesn't tell the whole story. I understand your upset but you should have gotten numbers and such before hand so people can diagnose whats going on.

Sometimes it cost to be the pioneer. You win some you lose some. Sorry to hear these fustrations Shumby.

From Sam i know th enumbers were not anywhere near where we wanted them. So really i do not care. I want the best out of this and this is what Sam sugests to get theat. I trust him fully. he did warn me about the LTH and that it might be an issue. We just did not think it would be this much of an issue

shumby 06-11-2010 02:42 PM

thanks JB. I knew this couls happen. Just wish it did not happen on my 5 year mark with the old lady. lol. the cost of this is nothing compaired to what it will cost me when i get home.

these are two totally different animals the 5.0 and the VQHR especially down to the tuning aspect.

Domestic sports cars are built so that the aftermarket can really pump them up... its been that way for decades.
