One person states that the 224 and 248 will give same results. One person replies calling him a idiot and says the 224 will give a higher rwhp then the 248 because the drum is lighter, blah blah blah. With all the dynos out how the hell do we really know what are rwhp is. dyno dynamics reads an average of 10-15% lower then a dyno jet. So who's number are real lol. There has to be a standard set here or I am going to develop a dyno that will say you have 600 rwhp after all you did is install intakes. I hope I am making my point clear in what I just wrote. All the BS just makes it that more confusing in what dyno you wanna run on. If I went to run on a dyno dynamics hen the rwhp should some what equal the same that I would get off of a dyno jet
Frank

Trap speeds are a pretty good indicator of rwhp :)

Very nice car man (saw it parked outside my office buildings today ). Definitely one of if not my favorites 370s that I've seen.

Thanks, man. Let me guess, your office buildings are in the Galleria? :)

Nice build, you sound alot like me...with my G35 throwing tons of $$$$$ and parts at it for huge power and have had nothing but headaches. I have been convinced for awhile a G37 with a simple TT set is the way to go for me. After reading your thread and your opinion on the GTR (I have heard the same from former high HP 350z owners) I think its only a matter of time before I do a G37 with the GTM kit and shoot for the 550-600whp range. Thanks for the excellent write up and honest opinions I have found it very helpful, Congrats on a great looking car with a sick build

If you go that route, you won't be disappointed :)

VHR/HR motors are just begging for boost. I've found that the powerband is much more usable than on the DE's, where you are scrambling to find traction at anything over 3k rpm.

Baker 06-09-2010 09:15 AM

Car looks greats, very clean. Almost seems a few simple mods are done, until you pop the hood.

lando76 06-09-2010 08:12 PM

f ya that setup is so clean. GTM makes a drop dead sexy kit. Im glad there are people in this world that get to experince the pleasures of life as you do. Most of us will not but letting us into a bit of your paradise makes us all feel good.

Thanks for the feedback, Sylvan Lake V. As Chris said above, do it and you will be much more happy than you are at the present moment. Honestly, there is nothing like driving a very nice OEM car, having it run like OEM...but, with a good bit of power. Right now, I really couldn't ask for more. Even when she is a bit tempermental (and she has been recently with some front bumper damage) I still love her.

It's funny that you say that. I have recently been thinking, a lot, about how fortunate I have been being able to build the 350Z, owning the GT-R and now having the 370Z and its build. I honestly think that I'm reaching a crossroad where I want to start paying some of that forward. Posts like yours are helping me make a very hard decision. Thanks, sir.

Damn, Storm... your Z is lookin' real good. Wish you could join us this Saturday for our mountain run!

And Bullitt, what's the ETA of the installation?

stormcrow 06-10-2010 11:01 AM

Z1804 has already PM'ed me the details and an invite. It seems there is about an 80% chance that I will be able to attend. I am awaiting a call to cement my final plans for this weekend. I truly hope I can make it out as the alternative is not going to be nearly as fun. ;)

Nah. I will take the rear. I need some rock chips in my freshly painted front bumper and I don't want to hold the hardcore drivers up. :)

bullitt5897 06-10-2010 03:51 PM

So how does your TT370z compare to the GTR you owned..power, fun factor, acceleration etc.. likes or dislikes so far?

You know you are always more than welcome to ride along...and drive some, as well. Yup, it's Saturday. Meet before and then ride out. My only caveat is that I had promised a friend that we would go to the range! Bro, you and I are always either driving or shooting. *lol* I hate to bail on my friend, but am considering it as I get very few nice weekends to bang on the car and it looks to be a nice Saturday. Ugh. Sometimes it sucks being a "good guy".

The GT-R was much quicker out of the hole. It spooled faster and the AWD couldn't be touched from a launch. As far as acceleration goes, the Z seems to peel back the speedo more quickly, but the GT-R had more felt torque so it was deceptive. I feel a much greater connection with the Z due to the more compact body and feel as well as the actual clutch pedal and shifter. The Z seems to handle better, IMHO, than the GT-R did. My Z feels much more stable (less body roll) than the GT-R did, but I am on coilovers and do have sway bars whereas the GT-R was only lowered on springs. That said, the GT-R..I couldn't push it hard enough on the mountain roads to feel like it was ever about to get away from me. I am excited to see how the 370 performs on the same roads. With my 350Z TT VQ35DE/GReddy TT combo, I had a LOT of feathering to do to keep from losing the a$$ end on those mountain roads. No LSD and 600ft lbs of torque coming on in 1500 RPMs made for a wild ride.

Overall I am happier with the 370 than I was with the GT-R. For my street driving, it more than suffices and keeps me connected to the car.

toner123 06-15-2010 12:16 AM

Well storm I am stealing your thread lol. Today was day 1 of getting my car ready for the installation. Tomorrow the the exhaust comes with the test pipes and oil cooler. On wed my TT kit will be here, well most of it, and the rest comes in on thurday. The spacing out of everything is nice since it allows me to keep up with it. So taday I removed the front bumber, intakes, removed both headers, stearing coupler, and the entire exhaust. Every thing was going great till I got to the driver side header. That damn thing is a major pain in the rear, like what was Nissan thinking lol. I am going to wait till last before putting the echaust in that way i have more room on the ground. So the plan for tomorrow is I am going to drop the oil pan, remove the intake manifold, remove the O2 sensors, and get the fuel rails ready for the new injectors. Also will probably get the oil cooler installed since that goes behind the inner-cooler. Just letting you know where I am at, I think I did awsome and got alot done today consider three bolts on the driver side header were stuck in there.
Frank

travisjb 06-15-2010 08:24 AM

toner, good progress... the manifold bolt issue is often discussed on this board. i think there are a few posts that discuss how to get at it

toner123 06-15-2010 08:57 AM

yea after about 4 hours of hell i got it out. I don't know why Nissan puts them in dry. Also even the heat shield bolts were locked down. tw of them snaped and the third one i had to cut. Passange side header came off easily though.
Thanks
Frank

It's that steering link on the driver side that makes things so difficult.

Interested in seeing how this goes. Do you plan of giving the community media of progress??

stormcrow 06-15-2010 09:44 PM

Great job, Frank! I can't wait to hear how this turns out! I am glad to know that your parts are trickling in and that you are happy with your progress! Also, kudos for taking this own yourself! You have more huevos than I! *lol*

LOL yea I am thinking along the same lines, I am a idiot lol. Today was a shocker while I was removing the fuel rails to get the injectors out, the fedex guy pulled up and droped off 2 boxes =). SO i got the oil cooler and thew twin turbo kit a day early. I wasn't planning on it to arrive untill tomorrow, but was glade to see it. So since I really wasn't set up for everything I removed the fuel pump and installed the new. For something so smal I was shocked to see how long it took to do it. I started to install the driver side manifold, just have 2 more bolts. Replaced all the injectors and reinstalled the fuel rail. So tomorrow is going to be the big money making day since not much progress got done. I have some drilling and taping to do so I can install the passenger header.

As for my own thread kind of thought about it 1 it's fun to take over storms thread =). 2 my build is preaty much exactly like Storms since his goals were the same as mine and his car is ubber sexy, didn't seem wise to make another thread on the same exact thing. 3 I am just trying to keep the few people that helped me with everything I needed, (one person that was nice enough to call someone for me when I was freaking out) informed on my progress. Originally I was going to make it a DIY but no need for that, Sam hooked me up with great instructions and when ever I have a question he is a call away and spends the time with me till I undersrtand. If anyone has any questions feel free top pm me and I would be glade to answer.
Frank

Viera 06-26-2010 09:02 PM

It was nice meeting you yesterday man. You better come to the dyno day!

B1nks 06-27-2010 11:52 AM

Hell yeah, some dyno day results would be pretty cool.

stormcrow 06-27-2010 05:06 PM

I am down. The unfortunate thing is that my new friend who just moved up has her birthday on the 3rd. Her mom and brother may be coming up to visit for the weekend. If they don't make it, we are there. She prefers to go. She is now firmly addicted to the car scene. *haha* Oops. My bad. ;)

Hey Jeremy, I can fix that hehehe ;) I'll just show her my abs and guns lmao!

MMC Racing 07-05-2010 10:53 PM

Why you selling this thing?

bullitt5897 07-06-2010 09:34 AM

I will let Jeremy answer this question as it is for personal reasons and does not reflect on the car. He has higher priorities and needs to make certain things happen. whoever gets this car is getting a hell of a deal!

nismo245 07-06-2010 05:56 PM

Car looks great. I also have a 370z nismo and looking to put the gtm tt on. The only problem is that I live in northeast pa. Does anybody know of a good shop that they would trust to do the work. It doesn't matter if I need to travel to NY,NJ,MD,or ever VA. The closer the better. Thanks
