Yeah..no. Base Corvettes were running high-12s ten years ago. A few owners have run high-11s at 117-119 MPH in bone stock '08 or '09 base Corvettes, but on average they run 12.2-12.4 @ 116-118 MPH. As per the list on another site, the top-5 fastest supercharged 350Zs will only be able to keep up with an LS3 Corvette.

There was a guy with the handle "Ranger" who ran 11.9's at 117ish in a C5 Z06... those only had 405 hp or so. Vette's are downright nasty.

Every now and then I wish I got one over the Z because I want that kind of 115+ mph trapping power.

2 bad GM always cheaps on on interior though. Even the 80k vettes alway look lacking to me for the price--It has always baffled me

That's really one of the only reasons I didn't go for the 'Vette. I felt like the Z was the better built of the two... interior quality on the Z just blows the 'Vette away... but the power of that LS3 is such a rush!

I know I'm not going to be happy with the Z until 400whp or so.

My 1996 LT4 ran 12.71 @ 111.98 on stock tires with just headers and exhaust. With a 12.5 to 1 398ci stroker motor, it ran 10.83 @ 132.5. Biggest problem was tracks would not let me run because it did not have a roll bar.

Rented a new LS3 out in CA a couple of weeks ago...... the real deal and much, much faster than my modded Z. With full bolt-ons my Z makes 317 at the wheel. Look at what a stock LS3 with headers makes.

what did it put at the wheels?

i'll admit, with the driver mod and light mods, they are faster than i thought. i did run one in my old S/C tacoma (~400hp) on the freeway, and i was really disappointed in the vette (base c-6, prob ls2).

p.s, i didnt say you were smoking anything

Immediately below is the dyno sheet showing bone stock vs bolt-ons on my LT4 Corvette. The car ran a 12.72 on factory tires and gears. On the next run it ran a 8.19 1/8th which was quicker but in power shifting 4th gear, I broke the syncro. It would easily have run a 12.6 or even a high 12.5 had I not broken the gear. This was the only track session (total of 5 runs) with the car in this configuration and I was in a learning curve as to what the car liked and how to drive it.

After 3 blocks, 4 sets of heads, 7-8 camshafts, 3 sets of headers, three intakes and literally 100's of dyno pulls the car ran a 10.82 on M/T slicks. Here's the dyno sheet. Remember I'm a stickler on average hp within intended application and the car was capable of more peak hp, but when shifting at 7200 rpm the car made more overall power using this head/cam combination. The best N/A pull was 481 but I misplaced the dyno sheet. Best on Nitrous was over 700.
