I'm going to try to get a dyno tomorrow. It depends on how clear the roads are cause I still have summer tires on. (winter tires are getting here tuesday)

DannyGT 12-12-2010 09:19 PM

I also might have access to a dyno tomorrow, weather's been shitty here so I'll call up a buddy of mine and see if I can hop on the dyno tomorrow around 6pm EST.

CARB cert update?

efuseakay 01-01-2011 01:17 PM

P.S. No more flutter! :D

GUTCH 01-01-2011 02:04 PM

Sorry to take this thread in a new direction...

Any updates regarding the stage 2 SC kit? Any installs, reviews, etc?

:ugh2:

I wish it was mine. It's Fezzik's G37 vert. 6MT. I'll let him chime in with more updates eventually... but the fix Sam sent out worked great!

We just finished the last part of the crab instruction, what is left is sending the car to be tested .

We are confidant we are going to nail this the first time .

Sam, why is it that you don't try for CARB cert with the TT kits?

Our turbo kit Is TUV approved in Germany, So it is possible and i know it can be done. TUV certification is much tougher to get vs the carb certification here .

I don't think it is worth for us it to go through the trouble if getting that done especially sense we have an SC FI kit taht will be carb approved .

Haha, it would be worth it to me! I want a TT, but hate the thought of dealing with CARB here.

I truly think that customers that are set on a twin turbo set up are going to get it no matter what, At least that what i have seen in the past. Beside California market for FI is getting smaller and smaller every year.

Not sure how california works but if i was to get stationed there by the military, my car would be illegal?

Why do you think that is? Laws? Crappy gas? Crappy economy?

Just have to be careful how much you drive the car.
I know in Texas (and I assume Cali is worse), if cops see your car to often they will write you a ticket and force you to register it in the state. There are ways around the laws but would have to look at each state.

Even if your in the armed forces. I know there is a goverment law that allows us to keep are vehical registered in are state of residence. Like I drive my car all day and never once got pulled over for a issue with where my tags are. I can see if they did that to people that live in cali and are residence there.

True, and if you pull the military card I could imagine they would have to let you off.
Since they have no idea how long you have or will be there they cannot say much. Plus you are in the military, do what you want (within reason).

LOL that card doesn't work as well as alot think. Here in VA it will get you 2 tickets.
Frank

Nixlimited 01-01-2011 09:39 PM

VA police are the worst. I once got pulled over by two cop cars at the same time for running no front plate. Even worse, the cop talked to me for like 15 minutes about my car then wrote me a ticket...

Just Chiming int. The flutter issue is solved. The bypass valve sounds fantastic. Also I am gunning the car more b/c its not as loud with the flutter. Great customer service.

One issue though. My gas mileage has gotten a lot worse. I just cant keep off the gas pedal b/c of the big grin on my face.

dwntwnall4u 01-02-2011 04:43 AM

OH man...Rotrex powered 370z and CARB legal would be so sweet. I have a Rotrex SC from URD on my 2006 Tacoma now, but not CARB legal.

Is this normal? i really havent noticed any major difference in my MPG. I really don't drive the car around like a mad man and stay at about 60-65 on the high way most of the time. I know i have a TT so not sure if thats why.
Frank

RCZ is the stillen S/C having the same thing?

Oh that was me driving the car....
I get around 16MPG daily driving (50/50 city & highway). I think one week I hit 19MPG when I was doing some long distance driving mostly.

Ok so alot of it is the driving habits you guys are doing. Still though 16 average seems low to me. Next time I drive I am going to have to reset my mpg and see what it does. I will also fill it up and do the math.
Frank

theDreamer 01-02-2011 05:55 PM

Before the SC I was around 18MPG on a good week driving in the city.

I get a bit of highway driving everyday but most of my drive is sitting in traffic.

It was an interesting week of driving or should I say 3-4 days.

weiboy718 01-02-2011 08:12 PM

i'm only making about 180-210 local + freeway miles on a full tank. that averages about 12-14 mpg which sucks cuz my car isn't fast at all. to be honest it's only a tad faster than stock lol.
