Anyone else besides me is waiting for their kit?
|
yup both of us :) but maybe in different situations hehehe
|
Me too. Waiting since Feb 2010.
Paid in full. Its going to be a one nasty Z in Canada. 4.08 gears GTM torque converter. (installed). traction control, (some day VVEL) and some very secret modifications to the induction sysytem. Not from GTM Z |
I don't quite understand the benefits of the current torque converter at this point in time when GTM are still meant to be producing something for the 7AT after having received Shumby's ruined transmission.

^i have the same mod
|
They have already built a 7 AT converter for the 370Z I have the first one.
It works great off the line. |
wht are the mods now for the 7speed 370z ? valve body upgrade only or even that isnt out!
|
:tup:wish u the best man

I would say it is not the fix for the 7 AT. Upgrading the VB would help but the problem is the small clutch pads in 5th, 6th and 7th gear. They can not take the abuse, if you are crusing in drive 7th gear and you floor it with the SC on the car it will downshift to 5th or 6th. And the pads can not take it.
My 7 AT shift great under load and i dyno in 5th all the time and i have no issues to date and i putting down 320 rwhp. with at least 60 passes down the 1/4 mile. Z |
No polished intercooler?@!?!?!
:eekdance: |
Valve body upgrade will help speed up the shifting which in turn does not heat up the trans oil as much, but then again VB upgrade is only available for the 5AT (at least for now).
An oil cooler will also keep the trans oil cool and help lengthen it's life. A torque converter upgrade does nothing to longevity. It simply helps with launching and slip. But as Z eliminator said, the problem is with the clutch packs in the last 3 gears. It's all about driving style. If you're going 60mph in 7th and wanna go WOT, drop it to 3rd gear first with the +/- BEFORE pushing the pedal all the way in. That way, you don't stress the trans and cause premature failure. It will help your trans last longer. For the 5AT, I think it's the 4th and 5th gears that are weaker. |

Thanks for that exaplanation. At least someone replies to my posts. :tiphat: |
You've been waiting that long for the supercharger?!?! are they not in stock?
|
Most of those that are waiting are waiting on the stage 2 SC. Sam is telling me that mine is going to ship early next week. But mine is only a stage 1...

I spoke to him 2 days ago and the work is coming along nicely on the stage 2.
he did not say anything about shipping them out. " belive me i would know " I would say 5 or 6 weeks . Or in Sams case it could still be a long time. we will just have to wait and be patient. |
We are putting FI kits together in groups to make the process go a little faster, we are taking turns between VHR TT kits and SC kits.We are limited to how many kits we can put together in a week, We were hopping that at some point kits will be assembled and ready to go on shelf, but we have not been able beet the rate of orders coming in which is a good problem to have but we would rather not make any body wait.
Next SC batch leaving will include both of your kits. Thank you for you patience. Sam Quote:

here is how it works. Sam likes to see everything going down. When a kit ships, i know he verifies all its contents before it goes. When a product is RnD he is the finnal stamp of approval. It comes down to this, if you want a quality kit then your going to wait. Thats how it has to be because Sam wants to make sure everything is good to go.. He will not take more then he can personally handle and if you call him up he will tell you this. He also doesn't rush to put the kit out the door because he knows mistakes come out of it. I had to do the wait also when I ordered my TT kit. The only reason I am posting this because I hear alot of people saying things about the wait, like i said thats just how it has to be if you want the GTm kit.
|
If you want a GTM kit, and you do, you will wait however long it takes. :D

Is these SC stage 1 and 2 fit RHD 370z?
:tiphat: |
" you mean that your shipping my stage 2 next week."
Plus mine is the stealth kit. Z |

Thanks Sam, at least I won't be bothering you Monday morning. :tiphat: But, sooner than later, would be better :p I'm itching to start working on this project. |
If you get your kit Pat email me.
thanks Z |
I'm wondering when the best time to order is?
|
Order now of course
|
The best time is the soonest ;)

***Update 1/4/12***
We have the CARB Test Letter in hand! This means that CARB has approved the components in the kit and they have everything they need with the exception of final emissions testing. We are *this* close to getting approval. Sam |
Congrats Sam!

As to blaiming the CARB process, that was a fine excuse a year ago. We are now 2 years in and Jerry Brown cut those limited furlough days over a year ago. Sam can correct my guess if I'm wrong, but here it is. 1. The process was more difficult than expected 2. When GTM needed to provide more documentation or change a part, they put their other workload ahead of this effort. 3. They decided to have the system tested on the heaviest 3.7L car, the M37, so they could have all 3.7L cars certified in 1 shot. This delayed the process considerably. |
Still no news on the CARB approval...
Has this endeavor been completely scrapped? |
