true, a question I asked in another thread was, between 4-7K rpms, which is going to make you faster, the tq or hp? I know both really but if you could only choose one.

Also if a SC is not working at its best efficiency, what does that really mean? I know you are not at max power then but would it effect mpg, how hard the engine works, etc.?

Efficiency is referring the compressor's adiabatic efficiency, or how much heat is added to the air charge when compressed.

You eventually get to a point where you can't make any power
because the intake air temperatures are too high.

So where is GTM? They have a few questions they need to answer.

Stillen S/C just annouced, i think GTM well face a tough competitor since Stillen made 438rwhp and the price is just $800 more.

Stillen did it with a Stillen CBE on the kit as well. They should have mentioned that in their press release too if you ask me. You aren't advertising correctly on what the kit's performance itself when you show numbers that have a CBE in it too.

GTM will surely beat or match their numbers with their stage 1 kit. Sam just doesn't have the time right now to put a CBE on either of the two cars because he's busy working on the stage 2 and 3. :)

ya i noticed that in stillens release. i was hoping someone else would say something about it as I am seen as a rouble maker. I cannot wait for my stage 2 kit with CBE and LTH

Togo 03-13-2010 09:28 AM

Wow I didn't realize they did that with a CBE on. Personally the low end TQ on the Stillen wasn't that great, i thought. Looked nearly stock in the low RPMs.

LiquidZ 03-13-2010 10:23 AM

They mentioned they had a CBE well before the press release.

I can't believe people are going back and forth over maybe a 5% difference in numbers. The same person didn't tune these cars and that right there can be the difference. GTM may tune more aggressively based on their experience while Stillen may be more conservative. The kits are so darn close, it is like the margin for error in polling.

Brazilbro 03-13-2010 10:36 AM

there are only 2 big differences in theses 2 kits that i can see..
1. One is 800 bucks more
2. Other wants full deposit
---------------------------
I like the looks and price of the GTM just dont like being without my 5gs untill whereever the kit shows up.. but I'm going to to pay it anyway.

Agreed. The power differences look pretty close to me, and will be even more similar once GTM dynos with an aftermarket cat-back.

The difference is $900, right? That's fairly significant, IMO. Could be put towards a couple additional supporting mods like an oil cooler, clutch, flywheel, gauges, bigger/stickier rear tires, or maybe some suspension upgrades.
