Are there any other plans for this car?
Built motor after a few years with some upgrade boost/turbos, brakes, suspension?

Siccc. Did you post wheel specs? Are you planning to lower it some with coils or springs?

FuszNissan 03-19-2010 09:48 AM

RE-11's
265/35/19x10 +30 offset
305/30/19x11 +20 offset

I would love to be lowered. But I still have a bad taste in my mouth from my 350, so no I won't be doing springs or coils.

BlackCherryZ 03-19-2010 10:33 AM

do you still have traction issues with the wider tires?

do you care to share about the "bad taste" of springs or coils?

thanks....

Traction Issues, I can't really say. I don't drive hard in lower gears. I may get a little spirited on the highways, but never 100% WOT. I don't really know yet with the 305's.

I had a 350, and did some springs(which may have been the issue) but then the camber would never return to stock. So I got some adj. camber arms. Then I got the camber in stock , but toe was out. Now I was dragging my tires down the street and they need to be replaced at 6K. Then I got some adjustable toe arms and toe casters, then back to the alignment. Then I scrapped my bottom all the time, ruined the front, exhaust. I was done. Then took it all off and put it back to stock. I cringed going over bumps and up hills, just put a lot of stress on me when I drove. PITA. Maybe coils would be better so it wouldn't be that extreme of a drop. But I just won't do it again.

:shakes head: I deal with that on a daily basis......I used to :icon14: over it but now.....oh well, I've learned to adjust my driving style when needed. But I totally know what you're describing, Lou.

FuszNissan 03-19-2010 10:58 AM

It just sucked, man. I didn't enjoy the car because I was too worried about bottoming out on something. But it also sucked because I had to keep adding parts to get it right. In the end I probably could have bought coils and done a mild drop. Oh well, lesson learned. If anything to learn from it, is go coils.

So you have to hit our driveway a little diagonally. pffft Shahul's GT-R has to use the drive adjacent to ours to not rip off the chin spoiler!

That is why I think that the KW Variant 3 are selling so well. Spring rates are not too hard or soft, and the adjustment ability is good.

:bowrofl: Hey, I ain't complaining......when I go outside and see what I'm climbing into I still get a huge  on my face.

P.S. - I got the EVO-R CF parts in already! :woot: Just need mah headlights and I'm set!

FuszNissan 03-19-2010 11:21 AM

Yeah, adjustablility(made up word) is key. I went with springs, and was hitting everything, even at angles. So I told myself 8 years ago, I would never do it again. One less headache in my life, and I have plenty...lol
