I still need to find a quality flex pipe to weld into the manifold. Would be a pisser to have the BL turbo **** the bed from another piece breaking off.

Yup! No coolant or exhaust leaks. Runs fine on 91. We're working on the 93 map, boost cutoff at WOT around 5500 rpm. PSI was spiking at 14 which is too much for stock.

That's a pretty damn big turbo and housing, gonna be pretty laggy. I'd look at a GTX3582R Gen II I fit one up on my V2 kit.

Did you have to install a scavenger pump for oil return?

Z is up and running, finally. Did 1900+ miles to SC the other week and she did really well. 6870 turbo performs really, really well .

Where are you usually seeing full boost at with the BL 6870, and how are you liking it compared to the short-lived Comp (not sure which you went with)?

I dont know if the comp turbo was ever working correctly. The difference is night and day between the two. This thing just keeps pulling and pulling and pulling. Makes me want to let into feeling of I NEED more boost.

I need to go over vids and logs to see when its hitting full boost, I cant look at the gauge and road at same time while going balls out. :icon17:

I swiped these pics from @betty when he was on Seb's dyno. We have damn near identical setups.

I think he said those were 91 and 93 maps

BettyZ 05-13-2022 08:46 AM

This was pre-fuel return and twin-pump setup.

Much appreciated Elmo. I'm still jumping back and forth between the TGZ Rotrex and the BP kit but if I go BP I'll definitely take you up on that.

We have a thread on Discord of all the **** you need to swap over to an oil fed turbo. Links and part numbers. Elmo was the man when sourcing some parts.
