Yeah, I've been talking to Rob @ Z Car Garage. He did my suspension.

It sounds like an aftermarket tune is desirable regardless, which is kind of a shame from a technically legal standpoint, but it doesn't sound like California smog checks require validating the tune. I've read horror stories from other states rejecting tunes.

As long as your car isn't showing codes and all monitors are clear it'll pass smog with a tune.

Definitely. Most guys just update the front bar and keep the stock rear bar. There are a few threads on here about the Hotchkis sway bar.

Overheat in street races and mountain driving. We have a hot summer here. I'd suggest you go 34 so that you won't need to do it again in the future.

As long as you do not have a cel on and your emissions control components are all working properly you will pass the smog test in CA with a custom tune that will not be an issue. As for the sway bars the best advice here would be to do a search and purchase the sway bar/s that best match how you plan on running your Z. Also depending on your climate and what your goals are with your Z I have seen a lot of guys get away with doing a 25 row oil cooler but, don’t be afraid to go bigger on the oil cooler is what a lot of the people here will tell you 34+ row oil cooler if you plan to track your Z.
