Interesting! I was on a hub dyno once, very convenient to work with. When I went last Saturday I the operator did 12 second runs. I thought it was a bit long..

I'm so saddened to come back and read about your situation. :eek2:

It seems our platforms have little options left.. Believe me, I fully understand the pain of rebuilding! I pray that your new plan works out. There aren't many left that are still charging ahead. :tiphat:

Yeap, I feel like the Lone Ranger. I would be a liar if I said I wasn't nervous as chit. I have a month to get comfortable. I am going down a road that has had little success for some people. I got the best place to do the machine/Engine work. If I fail, I am done.

I may come out of wrench turning retirement for this. Still thinking on it. Just need to finish my garage and install a lift.

Hey Spooler, slowly but surely went thru and read this entire thread. Plethora of information here. I would like to add my build info to this thread to better aid fellow VQ guys in their venture for power and hope your next motor build is the last one you’ll need. I rarely post on myg37 let alone on here. I have a 9:1 comp closed deck block and o-ringed with FI 2.5 kit on E85 at 18psi 846.67whp.

Being in the military gives me little to no time to actually document/post my build progress at all. It’s a 2009 with only 31k miles. Shows you how often I’m deployed and get to actually enjoy the car.

Mr. Squeeze actually helped me out a bit thru a pm many years ago. Glad to see he’s back at it too.

Who's closed deck and what type of O-ring. In the head or block. Were your numbers on Ignite fuel and who tuned it if I may ask.

Byrdman 01-24-2020 06:42 PM

Ya sure, so it was all built at TSM. RJM closed deck block...all work engine wise was done at Jon Kaase Race Engines. They send all their insane GTR 1-3k hp builds their way. My dyno numbers were on E85. Guess TSM learned from the Z that was chasing 1k HP in the Atlanta area that had issues with his motor. Only time will tell if my build is “the one” or not. *keeping fingers crossed*

Oh and it was tuned by Taylor at TSM.

Just wanted to share all I can to help y’all moving forward.
