Good afternoon everyone!

Well we have made a decision to move forward with atleast one platform and possibly a second.

We are big proponents of innovation and this brings us to the platform we want to pursue first.

The platform we are starting with will be the Positive Displacement Supercharger kit. We are currently in the measurement and initial design phases. The kit will be scale able and efficient. We have already started planning around the Whipple 2.9L (W175AX) unit. This supercharger has been known to easily push 500whp and up to 900+whp with corresponding mods and fuel.

As stated above we are working on measurements now and are working with Whipple directly in reference to their supercharger. We have a good bit of space constraints regarding the motor valley and hood. We are looking at all our options to make the most efficient, compact and powerful Supercharger kit developed for this platform.

We are aiming to debut the kit in person at Zdayz 2017!

As far as cost we are looking to be sub $10k retail. Also as far as hood modifications it is too early to tell. We do have a company car here at the shop that we will be doing all the mock up and designing on. Our basis will be around the Stock hood. Aftermarket hoods such as the VIS terminator hood offer better cooling and a larger dome area for the supercharger.

So stay tuned! More news to follow!

Wonder if you could get me close to 900whp on the motor you're building me Bobby? Id be interested in talking to you about maxing out this idea ...hit me up

Rich,

You will want to stay FI for your build. We do not know the upper levels of this kit at the moment and the power delivery at those numbers is more than likely going to mean a whole new set of transmission products such as hardened gears which have yet to be developed.

We plan on getting there with our test bed vehicle but it will take time. The advantage of the 2.9L whipple is that no matter your power goals 500 to 700+ you do not have to replace the charger unit. Also at the lower number the unit will run cooler than at its peak. So stay tuned and give us a call if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Well, they did say sub 10k. That's twin turbo kit prices from large, well known, tested companies. I wouldn't be interested at that price. But, we'll see what happens soon I hope.

Even your cheapest Twin turbo kit will be $9999+ In addition to that you will have a minimum of 40+hours of install time. Even at a traditional $100/hour your talking an additional $4k. That basic twin turbo kit wont include fuel system upgrades either. Our goal isn't to compete with Twin Turbo kits but to smash the supercharger kits that are already on the market. We also want people to have a true Road race mountain carving forced induction system with instant response.

We sell Fast intentions twin turbo kits and this isn't a competing product. It is a lower cost of entry product that has a completely different power delivery.

How quiet is the Whipple compared to other units, and will the fitment allow for the stock engine cover/intake, for example?

It depends on the pulley setup. We are going to offer a 7 rib and possibly a cog setup. The rib setup will be more quiet and the Cog will have that crazy SC whine sound to it. I would bet it sounds better than the stillen kit which to us sounds like a failing power steering pump none stop.

That is a great blower, I know because I have one. Good luck with the project, it would be cool to see it on a VQ.

Thanks Charles!

Just to keep the conversation going... Will there be a "Tuner" option so we can bring our own fuel mods and ecu tuning? Also, does it look like it could be a fairly straight forward DIY project?

TopgunZ 12-14-2016 04:04 PM

I know there is lots to work out but hopefully this screw blower can snap right on the G37 and Q50 too! I have been debating picking up a Q in a few months and if I can put a big whipple on it that would seal the deal.

Q is already a TT?

The 3.7 isn't.

We are currently at the drawing board with the design of the lower intake plenum. This requires some serious attention to detail due to our space limitations. Since we are looking to keep this as low profile as possible we will most likely be offering the injectors with the kit. If you wish to supply the rest of the fuel system your more than welcome to. We may even offer to sell without injectors but the value savings will be less.

The way we are designing the lower intake plenum means we have to use the shortest Injector Dynamics or Bosch EV14 style injector possible. We will be deploying innovative designs never used on this platform for fuel delivery. We are also focused on utilizing the biggest intercooler core possible. We are focused on making this kit as efficient as possible.

As far as a tuning goes we will have a base tune to get you to your tuner and a professional tune option available. We will support both uprev and ecutek.

Installation we are aiming to be the easiest of all the kits on the market.

The nice thing about this setup is that no matter if your right hand drive or left hand drive or even a different platform. All (RWD/AWD) VQ35HR and VQ37VHR motors will be compatible with the kit.

RJ MFG 12-14-2016 04:59 PM

On another note we will be debuting the kit publicly at Zdayz 2017.

Over the next few months we will be developing the kit on our in house shop 370z. We will baseline the factory motor and then start with our stage 1 kit. We will start conservative on pulley and tune since this will be the first of its kind and we do not know the levels at which parts will begin to break. Luckily we have tons of motors on hand. We will document the weak points of our platform and build our kits accordingly. The stage 1 kit will be for the stock motor guys. The stage 2 will be for our built motor guys. one of the nice features is that you wont have to change the blower no matter your power levels... now we may look at a stage 3 based on a bigger blower setup but at that point we are talking 1000whp+ drag car...

In addition to this development we have already started at least 1 new hood design. There is another GT style hood that if needed will be made and we are sure people will be selling their hoods to buy it. The renderings look fantastic so far!!!
