Premium, yes. But 91 or 93 might not be something the dealer knows. Also, if they've been letting people test drive it on the wrong octane, you're going to have

Premium, yes. But 91 or 93 might not be something the dealer knows. Also, if they've been letting people test drive it on the wrong octane, you're going to have a bad time. You need an oil analysis and compression test asap, and set aside money for a retune with your elevation and fuel.

Man. I just called them, they have no clue. They said you should be fine anything above 87. Then the guy said I would put 91 or 93 if it was mine.

I have a bad feeling already.

Holy ****. That's the worst thing I've ever heard. If you get into boost on 87, you will destroy the motor. If you get into boost on 91 and it's tuned for 93, you will destroy the motor. If it was tuned at Colorado altitude, and you take it to sea level and get into boost, you'll destroy the motor. You need to drive it back and NEVER let the boost gauge read positive until you can get it to a tuner near you and get it completely retuned.

And hope that none of the lot monkeys joyrode the car on the wrong gas - hence the immediate need for a compression test and oil analysis.

after working at several dealerships for 15 plus years, I can tell you right now that at least several people put that car through hell and back. On top of that they will only use the cheapest gas to fill it up. When I worked for BMW we strictly used 87 on every car whether it be a customers car or the shuttle.

edit: **** this thread was necro'd. Well I'll keep this here in hopes someone else finds it useful.
