Stillen SC idler pulley

I am in the process of installing a used SC kit and the idler pulley bearing has a LOT of play. Is this common? Stillen wants $110 for replacement parts

Default Stillen SC idler pulley

I am in the process of installing a used SC kit and the idler pulley bearing has a LOT of play. Is this common? Stillen wants $110 for replacement parts OUCH.
It is the pulley that is behind the oil dip stick just under the water fill cap for the radiator.
Any insight would be appreciated!

I would just go ahead and replace the pulley bearing before you get any bigger problems. How many KMS/miles were driven with the SC installed on the previous owners car?

I will be calling Stillen today when their SC tech is in and ask about tolerances.
Just wanted feed back to see if this is a high wear part and if anyone else has seen this before.

The pulley bearing is $12 to replace. Just buy the bearings and not the whole pulley assembly.

It seems the pully assembly is bad. I removed bearings and pully is chewed up inside from bearings having to much play like they needed a spacer.

Does this pulley come with a spring washer? it seems like that would fix the issue I have with it.

It should. Any cased bearing driven pulley is able to have the bearings replaced and would need a spring washer. If it's missing, that's the problem and cause of the chewed up wheel.

But the damage to the inside walls of the pulley itself shouldnt matter as the point of rotation is the very center of the bearing case and not around the ID of the pulley or OD of the casing.

You may want to add a dab of red loktite if the bearing races can spin on the shaft or in the housing. That should keep them from spinning in the wrong place during normal operation.
