Solidus' Boosted Performance 15' Nismo Build.

I'm just gonna go ahead and start this now rather than wait till after all's said and done to try and describe what I did.

My Z is a 2015 Nismo that I currently have modded with HFC's , Takeda Longtube intake, Ark GT-F springs, MXP exhaust and 305-50 rear Bridgestones. I had started tuning the car with uprev but stopped once I was concrete on going FI. I figure it's a waste of time to get the perfect NA tune for bolt's when I'm going to have to start all over in a matter of a month or two.

My goal is to build a reliable car capable of 500+ rwhp running at a max of 11psi since the motor isn't built. Purchases to put me on the road to boost to date:

52mm Prosport Halo gauges. Oil Pressure, Oil Temp and Wideband
Greddy Profec OLED EBC
Southbend Stage 3 with 19lb billet flywheel (Full kit from Zspeed)
Mishimoto Radiator with 12" fans
Z1 Motor mounts
Kuda mount (It's a phone mount but I'll use it to mount the EBC with swivel)

That's all I'm waiting for delivery of right now.( Gauges are here now.) I'm on the fence about the CJM S1 fuel return as an immediate purchase but I know for sure I'm getting it at some point in the near future. On that subject I'm very open to advice as to "Do it now" or " It's ok to hold off for a minute". I was thinking about heat wrapping but I may pass on that. Another issue I have is on whether to go JB or BB for the turbo.

I contacted Sasha a bit back and he had kit's, so my immediate hope is that nobody buy's the last one before I'm ready to pay for it next week. So as of now the only things I need are to pay for the kit, possibly pay for the S1 fuel return and also a maybe on heat wrap.

I'm at least a little lucky to be able to sell off a few parts to finance some of the peripheral due to taking off the takeda and having a set of HFC's with 500miles on them aaaand a brand new in the box set of resonated test pipes I can pawn off also.

The clutch kit should be here by early next week and the plan is to install the clutch and be able to break it in before the car goes in for the install.

So here goes another fabulous BP Creation.

Sub'd! Looking forward to it!

No worries on the kits...the big rush is over, 9 kits are out the door, and I am at about a 2 week ship time from the time a deposit comes in.

Looking forward to getting in to the details on your kit.

I'm almost done with my bp kit install. S1 fuel return isn't needed to the best of my knowledge. Sasha am I correct?

It is not needed, however, if the build has $$ left over, this is probably the the first thing that I would upgrade (aside from the regulars...clutch/flywheel/gauges/tires).

Thanks for the reply Sasha. Im nearly done with my install money is no issue my car with your beautiful bp kit is my baby. So bottom line can I run one MI summer without fuel return. I've read about drilling venturi a little larger to help with high fuel pressure at idle. Good idea or not given good chance I'll have fuel return in the future?

Return is next on my list with Ecutek. Phunk posted the venturi drilling about four days after my install. Not something I was going back in to do but will if I have to get back into it anyway.

Just finished my build today, the only thing left to figure out is the tuner. I never thought I could install the entire kit with a couple tools and 2 jack stands!

Sasha did an excellent job of putting it together.

solidus 04-14-2016 05:19 PM

I really wish I could. I did the headers and LS7 throttle body on my Titan and was mildly irritating during the cam install. Then on the G37 I did the full bolt setup along with a PST carbon driveshaft. Now I have to sit this out due to having a still broken femur. Checked on clutch install and got a quote for 800.00 and another for 500.00 . Bad part is that the one tech at the shop with the 500.00 quote was a meth head. Gotta make some more calls and I'm still looking for a Pathfinder to DD.

solidus 04-16-2016 03:35 PM

Clutch going in on Tuesday at Rev Works. I also have them lined up as a backup for install.

YzGyz 04-16-2016 06:42 PM

That's a shame. Installing the kit is probably the funnest part next to the first WOT! The second coolest is defiantly learning about turbo kits or forced induction in general. I learned so much from my install. I guess you can't drive it around either so what is the big rush to have it installed for? If it were me, I'd wait till I get that cast off and then start slapping things on myself. Heck, you have Weez not to far away if you need him. I bet he would not mind the drive.

I can vouch for this, I sent payment about 12 days ago and started receiving parts as early as last Monday.

This kit is looking awesome so far!

Neverhad a cast, I have a titanium rod in my leg. I'm already bacj training trying to get my pro card in mens physique. The corny part is that I still have trouble putting on pants without holding on to something. Being laid up for months is strange on balance and strength. I lost 40lbs at 8% bodyfat.

YzGyz 04-16-2016 09:23 PM

Holding onto things to put pants on is not corny. Nothing wrong with a little support here and there. I have had super duper size patients that list 300+ lbs and still had bmi of 50+%... that 40lbs and 8% is hopefully a good thing.

Another step in the build passed. Just sent deposit to Sasha and as soon as I finish this cup of coffee I'm off to FedEx to pick up my clutch kit and then Rev Works to have it installed.

TheWeez 04-19-2016 08:02 AM

Thatta boy. I'm driving to fever racing to get tuned right now. Wish me luck lol

EVERYONE DOWN! THIS IS A HIJACKING!
At least it wasn't a hit'n'run =)

YzGyz 04-19-2016 11:52 AM

That's some BS!!! At least you have leverage to get a free tune for your trouble. But I rather pay for the tune and not have a dented car than a dented car and free tune.

They are willing to take care of it this Sunday but nothing can get me down because this car is so much fun to drive

:rofl2: Since nobody got back with me yesterday on the BB vs JB I just figured JB is good enough for me.

How rude! Can't you see we're talking about TheWeez? NewsFlash: "Solidus' Boosted Performance 15' Nismo Build" Doesn't revolve around you! ;)

TheWeez 04-19-2016 12:35 PM

I'm a ****. Sorry :)

Don't feel bad, I spent a better part of the morning telling off everyone at FedEx. I don't think I'm welcome there anymore.

BB all the way. It's worth the upgrade.

solidus 04-19-2016 01:08 PM

Too late, I already pegged that money for the Fuel return.

YzGyz 04-19-2016 01:42 PM

I have the JB. Works fine for me. And FR sounds like a really nice place to put the extra $$

South Bend Stage 3 installed. I got the quiet disc option with the 19lb billet flywheel and I listened and there is no difference in chatter from stock. I was looking for it but that extra pedal effort is for real. Now I need to make an adjustment to the RJM pedal to get it a bit lower. Bought a guage cluster off ebay and I'm gonna install the gauges in the assembly so when I get ready to do the real install all I have to do is run the wires and pop the gauges in. Hopefully I don't damage mine and can re sell them to someone else as enterprising as me.

Stage 3 daily.

solidus 04-25-2016 01:42 PM

I tiptoed around the CJM FRS and I figured I better just do it so I just placed the order. The new plan involves me doing the install at my buddy's shop. Only curveball is that I had been looking for an SUV and now the GF wants an SUV and I'll DD the Acura. Looks like I'll be renting a car for the install due to the fact that it's going to take her awhile to decide what we'll be buying and she does'nt understand the necessity of boost.

solidus 05-05-2016 08:00 AM

So this weekend I completely nullified the surprise factor on the turbo kit with the GF. Picked up an Acura MDX Advanced package for her to DD and I'll DD the TL. The box from CJM arrived and I stopped by the shop to pick up the Tanabe Gauges. (Anyone wanting a set of Prosport Halo Gauges, I'll hook you up!! 300.00 for 52mm Oil Press, Oil Temp, Wide band.) Since I already have a spare gauge pod cluster I got on ebay, I took it apart to see what it would be like to fit the gauges. Actually it'll be a piece of cake. The spare cluster even came with the harness so I'll actually pre wire it when I figure out the wires so that once I rip out the installed cluster it'll be plug and play. The only thing I'm waiting on is the turbo kit to arrive. Tomorrow I'll go ahead and mock up the gauges so they're drop in ready and the Kuda mount for the boost controller. Then I wait for the boxes that count. I feel like a 10yr old at 9pm on December 24th.

YzGyz 05-05-2016 09:24 AM

Geez. If I had to factory in the price of a new automobile to buying a FI kit; I don't think I'll ever afford one. Geez. .
