Are you using UpRev or Ecutek?

For future reference, if you pull the factory gauges you'll lose some of the functionality of Ecutek. Just something to think about before you yank it all. |

About to go Silverback. Finger is on the trigger for a set of RE-11's 275F ,325R. Thoughts?

RE11's should be here next week. I thought the 305's were a hunk of rubber I can only imagine what these beasts will look like. 275/30 F 325/30 R. I'm ready to start taking stuff apart.....

Drop in gauges

Well here's my gauge handywork. They're all setup in the order of install. Not quite what I wanted but that's my fault for losing focus and moving fast. I wanted Oil pressure , Oil Temp then AFR but I got going with the glue and it was a wrap. It's permanently set into the bezel cases with a type of welding glue that uses powder and adhesive. When they say that stuff is good they are'nt kidding. Tanabe VLS OLED's.

Almost time:excited: Dropped off the RE11's at the tire shop and I'll drop the car there on the way to the gym in the morning. Monstrous setup 285/35f 325/30r. I had ordered 275/30's for the front and got scared so I changed up to a 285/35 and they arrived this morning. The other tires will be picked up and I get refunded for them since the vendor didn't have any of the alternate sizes I had in mind ( 245/40, 265/35 and Bridgestone doesn't make a 275/35 ). Definitely snap a pic when I pick the car up tomorrow. I went to the shop today to drop off a bin of parts and snapped a must have picture.

I'm going to let you drive my car and see the difference between the two tire set ups on 500whp

I need to grab tires as well. I wanted the Re-11 and then I ran across some MT that are the right size. You think this would be ok on sport rays and would they last a while? otherwise its re-11 275/305

Gotcha, but I only want to deal with Martin as far as touching my car though. |
Yea he's the only one that touches your car other than the kid who hooks it up to the dyno

Bought an extra oil pan for 10 bucks. Suggestions on where to weld the bung for oil temp would be welcome and appreciated. BTW. . ..Monster tires going on right now.
|
Where did you get the oil pan? I over tightened one of the new spacer bolts and snapped it and have been leaking oil like crazy

Well here it is. Definitely need an alignment after the turbo goes in. :driving:

I see someone on here from 2015 ran a 325/ on a sport ray and he said that it felt firm and performed very well?... I know thats certainly over max but what do you think with maybe 275F / 325R RE11 on a 19" sport ray?

The sidewall on the 325 gave those guys hell going on so I'm not sure I'd chance it. The 285 front went on like a normal install though. The 275f with RE11's is a no go. The RE11 only comes in a 275/30 ( Which I have a brand new set sitting in my garage waiting on these bastards to refund my money. ) there would be a 1.1" difference in height which stands a good chance of making the traction control have brain cramps.

Also on the oem gauge, its basically a computer, two pulse wires into a "motherboard" that runs all three gauges.. I guess until ecutek can hijack something else to display vct, traction, ethanol, etc, I will just colder longer wires into it and move the plug into the glove box and keep my oem gauge handy under the passenger seat... How is your build coming along? |

Got started today. Ran into a snag with the Intercooler. There's about a 1.5 inch gap between the crash bar mount point and where the intercooler mount can actually meet. I'm thinking of getting some aluminum square tube and longer mount bolts but concerned that the charge pipes will then be 1.5 inches short. Help a BP brother out.

Just elongate the holes to the outer side with a heavy duty drill bit

No this is not that. Theres 1.5 inches between the bracket when mounted and where the mounts on the intercooler should make contact. In other words if I mount the brackets to the IC and then tried to bolt it to the crash bar placement its almost 2 inches short of contact.

Can you please send me a picture or twould.

Had to resize phone pics so you can see what I'm dealing with here. Again my thought is to add a 1.5 to 2in square bar of aluminum to each mount and get extended screws. Outside of having a new mount welded to the IC which I really don't want to be caught up in tomorrow that's all I can think of. Looks like the ears on the IC should've been towards the rear and not in the center of the ends.

Other than this , I was able to take everything apart today, installed SPC X axis front control arms, and rear control arms. Mounted the Mishimoto Radiator, then completed all the steps up to the fuel system which I start tomorrow morning by blending that with the install of the S1 Fuel return.

I took a ton of pictures during install of you have any questions

Yup. Those guys at Treadstone really get things screwed up often. When I ordered my kit from Sasha the bolt holes were way off..from Treadstone. Had to go buy carbide bits to get through the hardened steel to make new holes.
I'm using them on the A2A kits and am not impressed with them. They have a hard time shipping orders on time. Granted, their products are pretty Damn impressive in the field. |
