Ok, so here's a few pics. ( And yes after some lengthy text debate with Jax I know I have to go back in and rearange the turbo to intercooler piping a bit. ). I figure I'm doing pretty decent for 3 days work combined with doing radiator and front and rear camber. You'll see that the Y section is just short of the flanges for my MXP catback so my plan is to simply cut off the rear section of the MXP Y-pipe and connect it to the turbo section using the MXP flanges instead of using the flanges provided. Outside of all this I still have to wire the fuel pump, drop in my gauges and wait for my air filter. Tomorrow is when I figure I'll be able to get my wiring and gauges done, then I won't be able to work on it again till next Wednesday but I figure I'll be able to fire it up next week.

All good. I'm only doing some work on Friday , this weekend I'm booked so I won't be back at it till next Wednesday. Tomorrow's amateur gauge installer day so be on the lookout for emergency texts.

solidus 06-07-2016 07:14 AM

So this past Friday I was able to run gauge wires from the engine bay into the cabin. I also demolished the OEM triple gauge and fabbed up brackets to hold the gauges in the individual pods. Was'nt able to do anything else because I'm still waiting on an air filter and I recieved an "E" compressor housing from Precision Turbo which had a 2" outlet.

Honestly I'm not a happy camper. First I had to fab up the intercooler, then I have no air filter followed by the wrong Turbo unit being sent. To top that I feel like crap because my buddy has been turning down jobs because my car is taking up space on one of his lifts and he does'nt want to kick me out of the workspace. I told him to just have the guy's roll it outside but he says he just want's me to get it done. That's hard to do when you have nothing to work with. And I feel even worse when he ask's how long and I don't have a clue.

I'll be happy as hell when this is over but the results had damned well better be worth the heartache they're causing.

Had to vent because this install is sucking a$$ right now. Tomorrow I'll finish up the gauge install in the cabin as well as the sensors. If the Turbo housing and the filter arrive the only thing I have left is to mount them then measure the exhaust to cut my MXP Y pipe.

I know all about set backs and issues. Had dealership put my clutch and flywheel in. Picked it up they said good to go. Right....... First light I left found out car was in limp mode due to bend reluctor ring tooth on flywheel that they had to have dropped. And now trailered my car all the way to dynosty and car was going lean on 10psi due to something in ecutek not allowing injector duty cycle to go above 75%. Hal has been working with ecutek and it's been a week and a half. Yeah it sucks but it'll be worth it. Hell hearing my car on the dyno........DAMN...... 489 WHP on 10 psi so far. My spring pressure was 8 psi. Hang in there Sasha is A1+ customer service and it sounds like these issues are outside his control and definitely not the norm.

Yes, hang in there. Sasha has done me right with the hick ups I've had. I'm not sure why the FMIC bracket are off. I think most of the installs needed a tweet to the bracket. Your set back in minor compared to my csc/flywheel/clutch fiasco. I had to install/drop my transmission 3x and send parts back 2x to check to make sure it was right or get fixed.

Don't worry. You will be grinning and smiles for days once it's all done!

As for you buddy and his shop. Buy him a nice lunch or two when you swing by and work on the car. It always helps.

Thanks for the support. If anyone's ever been to Japan and made the mistake of sitting in the front seat of a right hand drive taxi.....That feeling where you're getting where you're going but you ain't in control of $#it. That's about where I am right now with this.

TcRocket 06-07-2016 09:35 AM

Once again shasha I top notch customer service. So far by what I've seen my car do its well worth it. :). Your issues do suck but hang in there bro.

Hell I may be worse than that here real soon if this crap does'nt rectify, because I'm supposed to go on vacation to the Dominican Republic in two weeks for two weeks of vacation.

solidus 06-07-2016 10:48 AM

So a sliver of light. The compressor housing arrived at the shop just now.

I don't mean to sound like an *** but did you not do an entire inventory check off before you started to tear the car apart. I for one triple checked everything prior to occupying the garage and lift at my buddy's house.

Truth is , I shouldn't have to inventory the box. If I paid you 1700.00 in one dollar bills you better believe you'd have 1700 ones in your hand after I walked away. And if it was 1650 ones, 50 either fell on the floor on my office or I them it but I'll get you that 50. So far as I know Sasha's doing what he said he would do. The housing was delivered this morning and the filter should be at my house when I get home today. But............. both the manufacturers of the intercooler and the turbo screwed up and in the process wasted my time. If someone else bought this kit tomorrow ; yeah I'd say as soon as your turbo box arrives look at the sticker on the side and if the sticker doesn't say 6266 CEA SP, send that bastard back and if the mounting flanges on the intercooler aren't welded to the back end of the intercooler send that back too. But that's all hindsight, as far as I've read I've never heard of this happening which is why I did'nt expect it. Had I known the history of the intercooler manufacturer jacking up orders I would've definitely been looking for a screw up. As far as the turbo, well all I was expecting was a JB Precision 6266 twin scroll and that's what I got albeit the wrong one. ( I know now....and hopefully the next guy will read this and be able to get it right the first time.)

Boosted Performance 06-07-2016 08:12 PM

Sorry for all the hassle. I got on things as soon as you told me about them. Unfortunately for whatever reason Treadstone decided to weld up the mounting brackets differently than on all other intercoolers that I have ordered from them...not sure why, but they did.

The turbo was never in my hands, as it would not make sense for me to sit on all these turbos. They ship direct from my supplier, and Precision screwed that up, and has delivered the correct compressor cover.

On the air filter...that is my mistake. I tried to get you the air filter much faster and paid the $80 over night shipping, but for whatever reason, my filter supplier dropped the ball and didn't ship it as I had instructed them to.

If there is anything I can help with please let me know...and I'll get on it.
