lol doesnt cost 1k for shipping. Its 6400 shipped to your front door. Install 3k for an install then you getting screwed. Average rate for labor is $99 an hour. So your saying 30 hours for install? idk. The kit comes with injectors and an upgraded fuel system. The only items you need is a camp hks 2 and a oil cooler.

30 hours of install sounds about right, since no need to drop the motor I would think, but I have never seen an STS system put together fully so not sure how easy/hard it is to route all the piping.

nope dont need 30 hours. They said its about 14-18 hours depending on the knowledge of the installer.

Interesting, even a SC install is 30 hours and that is pretty damn drop in place for our car as it can be.
Redo my numbers:
-6500 kit
-2500 install & tune
-500 ship
-2000 - first set of upgrades
_______
11,500

That will get you on the street with the it and be safe, you might be able to knock some off the install/tune section as it will be done all at once.

Squires Turbo Systems - Universal
I was talking about the Universal turbo :)
$1995.00
Anyways, sure 20k probably was an over-exaggeration, but from the other threads I've seen 18k+ xD
If this can be built for under 8k. I'd get it.

basically what the kit's gonna look like. Doesn't look too bad..

theDreamer 10-21-2010 01:10 PM

I do not think you can get away with the Universal system.
Even if you do, you still have to purchase many other items.

Emailed Outperformance shop. I showed the vid to my friend yesterday and funny thing is he knew the street where the video was taken from the Nismo STS.
Said that was in Plfugerville, TX but the shop is @ Grand Prairie. :) not bad.
If the price is reasonable being not over 8k.. Then basically gonna drive up there and drop my car off mwuahaa, but first it's gotta come out of the collision center first from it's recent fender bender lmao.

It's a rear mount turbo. If you can follow instructions, you shouldn't have any problems installing this kit. Should be much easier than GTM TT.

The bolt on cost 6500
The universal cost 2000

Just an FYI, outperformanceshop was banned from this site due to shady dealings...I wouldn't trust them with my Z if my life depended on it.

Houston - Baker Tuning

Dallas - JoTech ($$$$$$)

not sure on any others to be honest.

Boost Logic is around Austin, but not sure of their rep.
I know they have some great shop cars, but never had any personal experiences from friends use them.

Ah okay thanks guys. Outperformance is saying:

Hi ______,

We're still doing some final road testing on our Nismo 370z.

Are you local to Dallas / Fort Worth? I may have an opportunity for you on this kit. Is your car a base 370z? Non-Nismo?

What style would you like?

Options:
Journal Bearing Turbocharger GT60-1 (standard rated @ 620 crank horsepower / 15psi)
Ball Bearing Turbocharger GT60-1 +$700 (upgrade for quicker spool / rated @ 620 crank horsepower / 15psi)
Ball Bearing Turbocharger GT67 +1000 (upgrade rated @ 750 crank horsepower / 15psi)

What's your phone number?

I won't give my # to him. No point, he can tell me the price via e-mail.
I just want a rough estimate on the total cost.

Update: They are giving a special pricing for a base 370z so if you are interested, I can give you his # and you can discuss it with him.

Dan is full of crap

He would always say "have a deal going for" whatever car you have and he'd talk a lot of BS and never go through with any of it. Some people got screwed over by the shop, so AK removed him from the forum.

Chris, who I believe used to partly own Boost Logic is now working at Uprev. If you go into uprev's shop you can see all the supras back there! :) I know hes built some pretty epic cars, so they definitely have the ability to do whatever build you want.

I saw this car at Uprev getting tuned and it looks like a promising FI alternative, except its grossly way too loud right now in my opinion. (In comparison to my car with longtube headers and FI exhaust.)

Jared mentioned the stock MAF sensors couldn't handle the airflow from the kit, and was telling STS the intake tubes would probably need to be revised to be larger so it wasn't pegging the sensor.
