Lets break it down -TT kit: 8-10k for kit, 3k for install, 3k for needed upgrades - Total of 14k-16k That is about what most have been paying to do a good clean install and be safe with proper upgrades. -STS kit: 6.5k, 3k for install, 3k for needed upgrades, does the kit come with a tune if not a possible 1k there for tuning, unknown kit design with possible problems we will throw in another 1k - Total of 12500-14500 This is a untested kit on our car and clearly no support on the forum yet from the makers of this kit. Also, unwated low pipes on the underside of the car may cause issues down the road. Quote:
I am not putting this kit down or anything, but from the pictures I see, you get savings of around 2k for a single turbo setup that is under the car. I would spend the extra 2k on piece of mind and knowing I have good vendors here that support the current TT kits and will jump in to help in anyways possible. |

Brings your total to 19k+ lil shy under 20k right? Just a rough estimate. Wasn't really an exact figure, but I was trying to say.. If this kit cost 3k for the universal + labor (should be lower since it's easier to install?) so around let's say 3k max for install and fabrication that's 6k spent. You can use the stock exhaust with this kit. still @ 6k.. + tune + upgrades. If it's under 7-8k then why the hell would I spend 20k on the other one XD Might as well buy another car with that 20k or make a down payment on a decent house. |

1k to ship, you are over paying, also you are in Texas, plenty of good shops around that you can drive to easily. Also, you said 6k total (assuming 3k for the kit :rofl2:) and then tune plus upgrades is 7-8k. Upgrades are standard between the two kits, it is 3-5k for upgrades you might or will need. The differences between these two kits are: -Price for kit (6500 v. 8000): Also, what comes with this kit besides the piping and turbo? Do you get bigger injectors, fuel upgrades, etc.? If not, that is more you have to add to the STS price. -Install (Unknown difference) With either kit you are going to spend a minimum of $12,000 to get it on and running, after that you are on your own for upgrades or other items you need. |

nope dont need 30 hours. They said its about 14-18 hours depending on the knowledge of the installer.

Redo my numbers: -6500 kit -2500 install & tune -500 ship -2000 - first set of upgrades _______ 11,500 That will get you on the street with the it and be safe, you might be able to knock some off the install/tune section as it will be done all at once. |
Squires Turbo Systems - Universal
I was talking about the Universal turbo :) $1995.00 Anyways, sure 20k probably was an over-exaggeration, but from the other threads I've seen 18k+ xD If this can be built for under 8k. I'd get it. http://pi.b5z.net/i/u/1473169/i/zpipecenter.jpg basically what the kit's gonna look like. Doesn't look too bad.. |
I do not think you can get away with the Universal system.
Even if you do, you still have to purchase many other items. |
Quote:
Said that was in Plfugerville, TX but the shop is @ Grand Prairie. :) not bad. If the price is reasonable being not over 8k.. Then basically gonna drive up there and drop my car off mwuahaa, but first it's gotta come out of the collision center first from it's recent fender bender lmao. |
It's a rear mount turbo. If you can follow instructions, you shouldn't have any problems installing this kit. Should be much easier than GTM TT.
|
The bolt on cost 6500
The universal cost 2000 |
Just an FYI, outperformanceshop was banned from this site due to shady dealings...I wouldn't trust them with my Z if my life depended on it.

Dallas - JoTech ($$$$$$) not sure on any others to be honest. |
Boost Logic is around Austin, but not sure of their rep.
I know they have some great shop cars, but never had any personal experiences from friends use them. |
Ah okay thanks guys. Outperformance is saying:
Hi ______, We're still doing some final road testing on our Nismo 370z. Are you local to Dallas / Fort Worth? I may have an opportunity for you on this kit. Is your car a base 370z? Non-Nismo? What style would you like? Options: Journal Bearing Turbocharger GT60-1 (standard rated @ 620 crank horsepower / 15psi) Ball Bearing Turbocharger GT60-1 +$700 (upgrade for quicker spool / rated @ 620 crank horsepower / 15psi) Ball Bearing Turbocharger GT67 +1000 (upgrade rated @ 750 crank horsepower / 15psi) What's your phone number? I won't give my # to him. No point, he can tell me the price via e-mail. I just want a rough estimate on the total cost. Update: They are giving a special pricing for a base 370z so if you are interested, I can give you his # and you can discuss it with him. |

He would always say "have a deal going for" whatever car you have and he'd talk a lot of BS and never go through with any of it. Some people got screwed over by the shop, so AK removed him from the forum. |

I saw this car at Uprev getting tuned and it looks like a promising FI alternative, except its grossly way too loud right now in my opinion. (In comparison to my car with longtube headers and FI exhaust.) Jared mentioned the stock MAF sensors couldn't handle the airflow from the kit, and was telling STS the intake tubes would probably need to be revised to be larger so it wasn't pegging the sensor. |

but okay Caravanman. Time to look elsewhere. Yea his e-mails make me "lol" I mean it wouldn't be hard for them to give me a rough estimate on the labor/parts/tune, but he's being shady about it. :] Looks like a pretty simple install. I have friends that can help me. Now just to see if the Universal Kit would be a better buy.. |

This weekend is the Texas mile so I am sure they were working hard on the Supras to get them tuned and ready as I know they want to break 250mph this year. |
id love to head out there. its in goliad right?
|
Yep, I will not be there but hope to go next year. I always forget to put it on my calendar and then it pops up and I already have plans.

Updates? =]

Hey i dunno if anyone is still interested but i have talked to Vernon from STS ( great customer service via email ) about getting the STS as well as Sean at CIN Motorsports ( also great customer service ) in Charlotte, NC about my install. As soon as i get back from Afghanistan ( round Jan ) i'll be getting the install and i'll update everyone on the status, as well as try to answer any questions if anyone is still interested that far from now.
|
you're in good hands with cin motorsports. I was one of the first testers in the country to get this kit through cin on the 350 and I was totally happy with my experience their.
|
Yea man i have heard nothing but good things about CIN. So how do you like the kit? I'm pretty excited about getting mine when i get back! I see ur in NC you know any good Z or even just performance car clubs? Haven't had much luck finding any. Come on January!! :happydance:
|
dont die thread lol!
|
nobody answer the questions.... no more pics... i call b.s.
|
The kit is working and a video has been found of it on the track: http://www.the370z.com/track-autocro...70z-turbo.html
I think those who want to get this kit need to talk to the company who is building it and get them on the forum so more information can be shared and answer questions. |

Called them and they dont want to.

The problem I see is, we have a couple videos, but no real information on the kit.
I would love to have them on the forum and answer question, especially if it helps clear the air on boost lag (if any), build design, why they went with X part, etc. |
