glad to hear they are working to accomodate you!!

personally, if i could see that the kit was assembled and then boxed up with a current news paper showing the date and ready to ship with my info on the shipping label - i would have no problem with them charging my amex,

25% up front to order the kit, 50% when it is confirmed completed & ready to ship and the final 25% when the package is confirmed delivered via tracking. Or, even spliting it 33% each step would be fine - but just having payments spread throughout the process minimizes risk along the way. however that might not be feasible for the company.

skype or facetime to see the finished product & a trusted credit card should make this pretty convenient for all involved.

really hope to see a finished product Jay. You're so close too, I definitely would want to come meet up to see the beast!

Absolutely.. We should meet up sometime for a beer or something regardless!

I really hope to see GTM make a comeback. It's going to take time and a future of stellar customer service to do it. I only say this because the more options that the community has in quality products, makes everything better for consumers.

Keep in mind this is coming from a guy that was hosed out of $500 from the group buy that everyone else got hosed on.

Sam just called me, as you guys know he is checking in on here.

He was calling about DE's offer to pick up/ship on my behalf and had a couple of thoughts, to summarize:
- If that's what I really want to do, then it's OK but obviously not his preference.
- Wire transfer is not instantaneous, may take a day.
- Going through the package to assess completeness will take hours.

He also told me that the package will be assembled and ready to ship with a label already printed and tracking information in hand before payment is necessary. To alleviate the fear that I would pay and get hosed, he has offered to waive the credit card surcharge so I can pay via my AMEX and just issue a charge-back in the event that they do not deliver what was promised.

To me, that is good enough that I do not feel the need to inconvenience DE.

A couple of other things he said, paraphrased unless in quotes:

He knows that everyone is watching GTM with skepticism.
He knows that people have lost trust in him, and that trust will need to be earned back if possible.
He believes GTM was, at one point, the "top dog" in this area, but has "lost the throne".

He seemed very sincere to me - but that doesn't really matter one way or the other in the big picture right now... For me, the important thing is that I can pay via credit card so I feel protected enough to go through with the deal.

I still plan to wait until the instructions are complete and the kit begins hitting customers hands before I complete my purchase. It's possible I won't even have an opportunity to install (DIY) until Christmas anyway.

Before you crank up the flame thrower, I am just reporting on a conversation I had and how I am moving forward. I am not attacking or defending anyone.

I'll keep you guys updated..

Sounds good to me, and I think the rest of the forum thinks it sounds good too.

2-4% on a few grand shouldn't hurt Sam, and yes Sam, you and GTM have lost the thrown... I'm just trying to help out forum members by being the go between
Hopefully that'll bring you back to the thrown.

Just to throw this out there just because... GTM grew too quickly for no ones advantage. If GTM just made stage 1 and stage 1.5 SC kits, they'd be making them and selling out instantly. The thing that kills GTM was the million dollar pipe bender, and this craze to make crazy items. No one needs a twin supercharger. (Almost) no one needs a GTR manifold.
The R&D that goes into these items is astronomical, which leaves customers unhappy, and or costs so much you will never recoup costs...

And Sam, if you need someone to help you out, give me a shout. I'm a cost analyst for a manufacturing company (pharmaceutical.) I think I can handle GTM, after all, I only overlook $50+ million of costing
This is a serious proposition, I'll come out on my own time on the weekends if you'd like.

It looks like Sam/GTM are trying to make a comeback... Maybe try contacting Sam.

As a matter of fact, technically I'm still in the group buy now that I think about it... Despite that I went BP :rofl2:

Same here.

It's good to see that Sam has atleast started turning things around and hopefully GTM keeps these new found morals and becomes the "top dog" company like they used to be. Better manifolds are their next uphill battle.

As for him selling kits right now, I honestly think he should be looking at getting all the people who have orders or didn't ship orders; and get them their kits before even posting on fb about how they have new V3 kits. The customers in question should be getting the V3 kits before even announced to the public just for the inconvenience and issues with V2.
Just my 2 cents though. I know that is not how to run a company than is being invested by an investor of Saudi Arabia as well, lol quite the opposite.

Otherwise I hope GTM can get back to where they were and this company gets back on track. Its good to have a company that has a craze for crazy items like DE was saying. If I had the money I would want a twin supercharger :yum:
Just so when I tell people I have a twin supercharger, they ask "you mean turbocharger" and ill just give a one word answer "No.." :happydance:

I don't want this thread to be about who's better. Yes! we all know about GTM miscues and they definitely owe everyone an apology.

THREAD JACK:

Where is the love for AAM? They have great products and service too.

birdman71 08-03-2015 07:00 PM

They have great products yes but as of right now there at about even or just below FI.

Zbrah 08-03-2015 07:06 PM

I got $2 left from lunch. I'd like to donate to this GTM "help me get outta debt" fund

bullitt5897 08-05-2015 03:03 PM

I have been watching this thread and finally decided to step in to discuss a few things. I am not going to talk about the business aspect of how they are in the situation they are in or on how they are trying to make good or that you should or should not buy from them. My presence is only to give those who are interested an inside look at what is going on in the background. Now on to the few items I came here to discuss.

GTM Stocking items:
Yes, GTM is starting to build kits to stock and from my discussions I believe its a massive amount of kits being put together. GTM has mentioned they will only sell what is in stock and I hope they stay true to that word. I am hoping they only take payments for what is in stock as well.

GTR Conversions:
I have been working with GTM on refining this kit and on getting the production pieces ready. At this point GTM is waiting on a set of MAF pipes from me. Given that there are only 2 units out in the public this is important that the MAF pipes be accurate and fit appropriately. I am working with a local shop to ensure that the Master pipes that GTM uses will be a Perfect Fit!

GTM V3 Manifolds:
These manifolds will flow approximately 30+% more than the original version. I have currently maxed out the original manifolds at over 1400+ CFM on the 4.5mill block and 24.2psi. This has netted us just at 1000whp. I look to push the platform even further and we will be looking to max out the new V3's on full size GTX3582R's. This will require more fuel as well.

GTM Fuel Pump Assembly:
As many of you know I have been the test bed for new products. Well there is one product that GTM did not release and that I hope they do. The GTM fuel Pump assembly is by far the simplest and easiest fuel pump assembly I have ever worked with. The entire fuel pump bracket, stem and hose ports are made of 100% Billet. The unit features a single Aeromotive A1000 (flows ~680lph @70psi), Aeromotive Eliminator (flows ~1000lph @70psi) or even the Pro-Series (flows 1500+lph @70psi) which is attached to the bottom of the stem and the fuel pump hosts an Aeromotive in-tank 100m filter below that. There is no need for a bucket as the flow requirements are beyond the buckets capabilities and the siphon tube is retained for the driver side of the tank.

Roots Style Supercharger:
GTM is working on a roots style system and just yesterday received several cast prototype parts to work through the development. Outside of that I have no ETA or other information except what I have shared. I will update when I can.

Previous orders:
For those with outstanding orders it has been conveyed to me that GTM will be sending you your stuff first.

People with Manifold Issues:
It has been discussed between me and GTM on multiple occasions to give you guys what you need! A working Turbo Manifold that is reliable and wont crack due to casting defects. With that said it appears they have listened as they are crafting together an upgrade program to get you the new V3 manifolds! This is a whole new design and a whole new material with the castings done by a different manufacturer. I have seen these units in person and look forward to running them on my car.

That is all I have at the moment and I will update as I get more information. :tiphat:

370Z JT 08-05-2015 10:54 PM

Thanks for the update. I'm interested on the gtr manifold adapter kit.
