likelihood of another SC hitting the market?

before i got my Z i read up on supercharger options and had pretty much settled on the one from the-company-that-shall-not-be-named :rofl2:. as we all know that is pretty much impossible at this point. so, I am left with Stillen offering. Which is not as attractive to me (might wind up going that route anyway, though).

i know everyone is big on the turbo kits, and that most of the development seems to be going that route. personally, i just dont want another turbo car, had several, and well, just don't want another. especially since i am not looking for huge HP numbers.

anyway, just wondering if there are any rumors/news/murmurings regarding another SC kit being developed.

thanks!

I haven't heard of anyone developing anything new. Is it really that hard to get stuff out of the other company? I knew there were issues, but I may not be up to date on the whole story.

It's impossible. For all intents and purposes they're bankrupt.

Plus I wouldn't want to support them after what they've done.

If you're not looking for huge HP then i would say that Stillen is your one and only choice. Now if you change your mind in HP after a while then you might have a bit of a problem with the kit.

Likelihood of getting a new SC kit, 0%

You can call BP and ask about their HKS revvyou kit thing, it's gonna cost you though

This Z model is near the end of its run, if just doesn't make economic sense for a company to develop a SC this late in the game.

FWIW, Stillen is a very reputable company, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a SC from them.

I've seen Rotrex sc's on 370's before, I don't know who makes the kit, but Rotrex makes the best superchargers money can buy. (IMO)

That was gtm

That's pretty much what I figured the response would be, just figured i'd check.

I suppose I was looking for a slightly higher HP number than the Stillen kit. I am also not a huge fan of their intake design (that's secondary obviously)

I guess I was hoping someone might be back-engineering the GTM design vs. doing a lot of R&D on their own.

Thanks guys!

Twin screw roots is what I want. Hell I will cut the damn hood like a hot rod to make it work if someone comes out with it.... I think the market might expand some though. Take into account most got a 4-5 year loan on a new 2009, fast forward those are paid off and the rest will follow suit allowing people to free up money to go towards major go fast goodies. A friend of mine was at the last Tokyo auto salon and said he said at least 3 different intake manifolds on 370z that were shown on cars that are not released yet, he was expecting them to release them maybe later this year. He owns a tuning shop btw.

someone with a stage 1.5 or 2 gtm kit should just get the kit duplicated. :)

warpeacelove 03-14-2015 12:03 AM

Gtm

Where can we get the parts duplicated and made better by way of reverse engineering? What type of business would do this sort of work?

I am interested to know.

if you are not interested in huge HP the stillen kit is great, it leaves your car driving like a completely stock vehicle but with extra power there when you want it, of course you will probably get used to the power available very quickly and want more.

the stillen kit isn't easily upgradable, so Turbo would definitely be your best bet. You can always run the Turbo kits low boost 5-6 psi and still make 400ish if you really wanted, then re-tune for higher boost if you get bored. Think of it from a re-sale point of view as well.
